Additional info & updates

Another reverse splitter... several of these schools are significant reaches, probably pipe dreams, but I have to try. I got several fee waivers for being an LGBT applicant, which shocked me.

And now, the wait. Good luck to everyone else this cycle! Let's see what happens...

1/30: I cannot believe it, but I got in Colorado-Boulder today. It came in a small envelope, which, as I was certain I was going to be rejected, scared me half to death before I opened it. This is one of my dream schools, and I am completely in shock right now! I really didn't think I had a shot! VERY excited!

1/23: IN at Syracuse... still waiting on eleven schools. Very personalized, comprehensive acceptance packet from 'Cuse. Third complete update at Notre Dame (I'm pretty sure this is not the norm...at least they are thinking about my application before rejecting me?). FINALLY under review at Alabama (1/20), complete at Cardozo (was waiting on a dean's cert). Scheduled an alum interview for Case for 1/27 and really looking forward to it. Should hear from them not too long after, because my app is currently Review stage 2/2.

1/18 IN at Penn State! Very excited about my first acceptance! Law school is officially a reality! Second status update at Notre Dame.

1/13 Rejected at GW, complete at Syracuse (1/6; REALLY wish they had a status checker), committee review stage 1/2 at Case (1/12; really like this school), under review at Pitt (1/12); status checker update at American from 12/22 to 1/12, so should be hearing soon. Should also be hearing soon from Penn State and Michigan State. No movement on the other apps, so it's nice to see some movement on a few of them...

1/3 Finally went complete at Santa Clara. Also went complete at UC Hastings, which was surprisingly fast. I'm "under review"/"in committee" at NYLS, Penn State, and Santa Clara.

12/31 This is the first time I have ever wanted a holiday season to be over...having an entire week during which I knew nothing was going to happen with my apps was torturous...only two weeks down so far, so probably at least two or three more before I start hearing anything :/

Good luck. You should really consider taking the LSAT again with that GPA if it is at all possible. You could be looking at a lot of scholarship money with that GPA. I went from a 159 to a 170 my second time and have reapplied with much more success so far... Why didn't you apply to Berkeley this cycle? They like reverse splitters. I would think that you are being pretty (maybe too) conservative with your applications, especially considering the diversity aspect - LGBT.

I wish you the best of luck in your cycle, esp with Case Western and American. Bummer about GW though, that's my dream school too. Still waiting for a response myself. I think you got a good shot at Hastings too, and pulling for you!

Congrats on Colorado! I am sorry to hear about GW, but I like Colorado between the two anyways. The DC legal market is scary.

Yea the GW rejection was disappointing, but it's probably for the best. I probably wouldnt have gotten any scholly money and dont fancy being stuck with $200k in debt. Im looking at W&M as my next best option, but have not ruled out any school yet. Congrats on Colorado-Boulder! Im very happy for you. Is this your choice for sure?
