I'm currently a (31-yr old returning) undergrad at U Iowa. My major is political science, my minor is computer science. When I attended school back in the '90s I was a computer science major with poor grades. I'm hoping my significantly improved poli sci grades will overcome my LSDAS GPA (crosses fingers for luck).

3/20/08: I got an acceptance phone call from U Minn today. I'm thrilled, but I don't think I'll believe it until I see the packet in the mail. :)

3/25/08: I got an email from U Iowa today congratulating me on admission. I'm very excited, and happy to have a choice to make.

4/8/08: I withdrew my application from Drake today.

4/20/08: Still deciding between Iowa and Minnesota. Minnesota has offered me $8,000 per year, so the price difference isn't that big. I'll be deciding by the end of the month.

5/10/08: I decided to attend Minnesota, so I withdrew from Iowa this week. Good luck everyone on your decisions.

Yes I'm a (returning, nontraditional) undergrad at UI right now, graduating in May. I finally added the other schools I am applying to as well. Thanks for the good luck wishes.

Well, right now I think I'll be going to Minnesota, but I won't be sure until after the preview weekend. Plus, new acceptances or waitlist action might change things.

You ought to see if they have more money available- if that's the only thing making you consider Iowa they could probably give you a little bit more to try and persuade you. (when I was there for admitted students day they said "we aren't sure we can offer more, but at least give us a chance before you choose somewhere else based on money"
