You've applied to several schools that I also did, and even though you're late in the cycle, you'll have a chance. I visited NYLS, Hofstra, and Rutgers, and Rutgers was the best experience (all were good). NYLS cost of living anywhere near campus will be huge. Hofstra will also be expensive and it's a boring location. Rutgers has lower COL and they offer a new law student dorm where you can have a 12-mo lease. If you sign that or any other 12-mo lease in NJ, you get in-state tuition (19k), even as a 1L.

Wow

Studied abroad for 3 semesters and went into architecture! So cool. Any chance you're going to NYLS?

sorry it took me so long to see your question. I just double-checked with the Dean at R-N who is in charge of this and she said that once she gets the list from the Housing Office of the law students who have 12-mo leases in the dorms, she simply changes your status in time for the term bill. I'm guessing that if you're signing a lease for an off-campus dwelling, you might need to be a bit more aggressive and bring your lease to them. Congrats on your decision. Good luck.

Hi Quick question -- what lead you to choose Rutgers-C? Thanks!
