Additional info & updates

04/18 - Withdrew my acceptances from Brooklyn and NKU. Good luck to applicants waiting to get in.

04/07 - Waitlisted at Emory on March 31st. I put myself on their list the same day and plan on sending in an additional letter of interest. Great school. And Atlanta is a teriffic market. But I can't do much else at this point.

Beautiful day in Cincinnati though. And the Reds are 5-0.

03/22 - A merit scholarship package came in the mail from Brooklyn Law over the weekend. They now are offering me $6,000 a year.

03/15 - Ohio State waitlisted me a week ago and I filled out the waitlist form today. I'm going to have to see what my options are, at Moritz and beyond.

I'm rationalizing, but when I'm making such a big life decision at such a large cost, I have to do what's best for me.

I expect nothing less from my fellow LSN colleagues.

03/04 - I got an "NKU Chase Scholar" t-shirt in the mail. My life is complete.

In all seriousness, I'm actually impressed with the marketing and structure of NKU Chase College of Law. Their transactional program is very interesting, and if you are serious about practicing in Cincinnati, I think it's a great option at a great price.

But then again, I haven't been accepted into a lot of law schools, so I'm easily pleased :)

Have a good weekend everybody!

02/28 - Loyola Los Angeles says no via letter. A little surprised, but I'm sure it's competitive enough for CA students. The paperwork came in from Brooklyn as well and no mention of scholarship money.

02/24 - I got an email acceptance from Brooklyn Law. I can't imagine a cooler place to live and work than Brooklyn. Brooklyn Law was the first law school I seriously considered. But I don't see anyway this can happen ($69K a year) without scholarship money, and it doesn't look like it's coming. I can't really justify taking out $200K in loans to go to Brooklyn.

Still, I'm very honored to get in.

02/11 - A law school filled day yesterday. I got an email from NKU Law telling me that I have been selected as a Chase Scholar. The actual package number is coming in the mail, but it should be at or around a full ride.

Emory Law sent out an email saying they are sending out admission decisions.

Finally, I got a letter from Colorado Law telling me that they have waitlisted me. I sent back the Waitlist Card this morning, checking "Yes," for being put on the waitlist. I really like Colorado Law a lot and am debating whether to go visit to demonstrate my sincere interest. Going to think on that one.

01/27 - I got an email from Assistant Dean Robert Schwartz tonight with a thumbs down. UCLA really was my dream school given my interests at this time, but I just didn't have the numbers. I didn't want it bad enough when it really mattered. No worries. Let's see what the rest of this cycle brings.

01/10 - Hello all. No update on any law school admission decisions, but I did see something interesting on user HeavenWood's page about GMU. Check it out yourself, especially if you're applying to the school:

"12/6: Rejected from GMU via email. An (anonymous) call to the dean revealed that it was most likely due to yield protection. In her own words, GMU's scholarship budget is so low, that if she feels an applicant isn't likely to attend, and is likely to get strong offers from other schools, you are very likely to be waitlisted or rejected, depending on how "apparent" this is."

01/03 - Happy New Year! I'm actually in a good mood, despite getting rejected from George Mason. The ding came via email this morning. This certainly diminishes my optimism for the schools I applied to with even tougher admittance standards, but still, keeping it positive :)

12/21 - Got a call from NKU Director of Admissions Gray this afternoon. She told me that I am a candidate for their scholarship program and I should know by early February.

12/16 - Was accepted by NKU via email. No word on scholarships, but hopefully that will be in the official letter, which they say is coming. A good feeling to be accepted at any law school.

12/02 - I lied. I decided to send an application to George Mason as well.

11/28 - Barring any last minute applications, I'm all done applying for the cycle.

UCLA is the big-time "reach" school.

Law school has always been the dream. Let's see what the reality becomes.

I don't want to go to UC Law School. I spread my applications out at schools I could see myself at, some based on niche interest, others based on finances, etc. Good question though.

Hey, no problem. Sorry about your GMU rejection, and good luck with the rest of your cycle!
