Additional info & updates

Had another account and couldn't remember the password, so here's my new account, since I didn't get the password recovery email.

All the info here is up to date, rejected at UF (saw this one coming and do not care in the slightest anymore, as I am the most extreme Gator Hater), and in at FCSL and UM!

04/04 - Out of the hold category and in at Miami! This is such a relief, as my only other acceptance is at FCSL and that was my safety. Very good feeling - I was just about to send out apps to Nova Southeastern and FIU, but it doesn't look like I need to anymore. I just wanted to take the time here to say that Miami does take a holistic approach and LSAT is not the only thing they look at! The LSAT was my only stumbling block this whole cycle, and my acceptance at UM just reaffirms my belief that the LSAT does NOT predict much. Three and a half years of hard work in college mean A LOT! So to all future law school applicants, be sure to work hard in undergrad! I will wait for the official acceptance letter in the mail from UM before I withdraw from FCSL.

04/07 - Status checker at Stetson says my decision is mailed. Maybe a good decision, maybe with some scholarship money? I hope the fact that I got my decision before the 4 week timeline they give is a good sign, but it could be bad too. Ahhh!

hey, sorry for the delayed response. congrats on your acceptances. its seems we have a lot in common. I'm an FSU creative writing major, who worked at the capitol for years and I'm jewish. I'm excited about Miami, but I wanna save money and go to FSU. What are you thinking?

Sarah - Thank you for the message! I don't think you have anything to worry about. Just keep checking the status checker to see when your decision gets sent out. Mine changed to "Decision mailed" when they sent out my letter. The seat deposit is due a little before a month that I received my decision, so I think it all has to do with when they send out your acceptance. At the moment, I am trying to make a decision between Stetson and UM, however, if FSU admits me, I am 95% sure I will be going there. Right now I am not exactly sure whether I would go to Stetson or UM - both are very good schools. I really wish I could visit the campuses before I have to put money down somewhere, but it's my last two weeks of class before I graduate and I can't get tours with either of the schools until after the money is due at both. Good luck!! Tiffany - my decision was a little different from the waitlist. I only put that because it was closest to what happened with my file. They "deferred" my decision of sorts (but only for a few days - only 4 days after I got the deferral letter they decided to admit me). Basically, they told me in that letter that I was qualified to be placed in a hold category, which means that they weren't ready to admit me, but they weren't ready to reject me either. I would call UM and ask them about the waitlist. I work at my school's office of admissions at the undergrad institution, so I know a little bit about the waitlist process, and if the process is similar at Miami to my school's, they might be able to tell you where you stand on the waitlist and when you can expect to get a final decision. I hope that helps you, and good luck!!!!
