Additional info & updates

NYS resident, applied only to schools I would seriously consider attending. The "State of Beasely" rule applies here:

"If you must go to law school, Go Prestigious, Go Public, or DON'T GO AT ALL!"

***Scholarship amounts are per year***

2/28/08 - Still waiting to hear back from Cornell. Let's just say anything other than a rejection will be a pleasant surprise. Otherwise, Buffalove here I come!

4/19/08 - Out at Cornell. That's all she wrote, folks.

I'm very excited to begin my law studies at the University at Buffalo!

Congrats on your acceptance to the University at Buffalo Law School. I am a first year student there and the place is amazing ! If you are a NYS resident the quality of legal education you get combined with fantastic tuition cannot be beat ! Of course, I wish you well on hearing from Cornell....but if that doesn't work out--I hope to see you at UB this fall ! My Best !

Thanks for your note and thanks for your questions. I do have one definite internship lined up. IT is a pro bono piece with heavy emphasis on poverty law and civil rights. I also have a couple of leads that may lead to an interview with a large law firm. Last, but certainly NOT LEAST, every 1st year student at UB Law is assigned a mentor. My mentor is a practicing attorney in the Buffalo area and has indicated willingness to help with my resume and making contacts. A car is NOT ABSOLUTELY necessary. There is a pretty extensive and free UB Bus System. And you should not have too much trouble bumming a ride when you need it. Hope that helps ! Best of luck to you !!!

Thanks! :) Yeah it was a tough move, not so much because I was hesitant about the decision as it just seemed so surreal to consider the process OVER. I got my housing assignment and I'm really happy with it, so I am all set to go. :) Yay we'll be classmates!! :)
