is a charm, right? i actually talked to dean mcgahee about my app last year and he said that my file was strong but i got it in too late. im hoping he is not just humoring me, but i am pretty hopeful. i didn't go anywhere else, just working and trying again! i hate the idea of going anywhere else! best of luck to you!!!

Well,

The reason I want to go to Howard so badly is because, in my eyes, it is by far the best place to study Civil Rights and that is what I want to do. Im hoping you might clarify your question about grades because if you are implying what I think, it is one of the most offensive and ignorant questions I have ever heard. If you meant something else, please let me know and I will answer that question. Best of luck to you.

I am definitely aware of that attitude and I can understand your skepticism towards a white girl wanting to go to Howard. I have dealt with it quite a bit, but it doesn't bother me...I'm prepared to explain myself to anyone that has questions. As far as grades, as you can see from my gpa, i am just barely within HUSL's range...I will definitely try my best if I get in, but I have no notions about how I will compare to others in my class...if I did, I really shouldn't be at Howard. Thanks for your honesty!

Congrats

On Howard. I'm glad you got into your first choice. If you don't mind my asking, have you ever visited the school? I am considering attending next year also and any information you would be able to give would be appreciated.

Congrats on your acceptance! I'm trying to craft a good waitlist letter, so if you have any advice I'd love to hear it.

You are such a blessing! I was wondering what all to write in my waitlist letter - your advice helped a lot. I am worried that it might be too long, but it may have to be since I can't travel back to the States to meet him in person. Thanks again!

I would totally try to live right there on Van Ness, but I have a 65lb dog...so its been difficult finding a place that will take her, too! I wonder how many people have gone through law school with a dog...it has to be possible, right? Would I remember you if you described yourself? There weren't that many people there...

I just sent him and the admissions office an email about my final LOR. Usually, Howard gets them from LSAC, but they haven't requested it from LSAC since i sent my LOCI letter. So I sent them an email, asking if I should send them a copy or wait until they get back to their waitlist - no reponse yet. Any advice? Should I call?

Got one from Dean McGahee - to reply if I still wanted to be on the waitlist (um... YEAH!!!) and that they'll be making decisions in the next few weeks. Did you get one of these last year? Good sign or no?

I'll be at HUSL in the fall as well....feel free to email me if you have any questions about the area. I've lived here all my life other than college. I don't know much about the dog situation, but if I can help, I will!
