Additional info & updates

My LSATs were disappointing, given how much studying I did, but they were a 15 and 17 pt increase over my diagnostic. Idk. It's whatever at this point.

I sent my apps in no particular order, if anything, it was just about which app was easier to complete.

---

October 29 - invited to interview at WashU.

November 9 - waitlisted at Alabama. Why'd you waive my CAS fee, exactly?

November 12 - complete interviews at WashU and Northwestern.

November 16 - multiple apps listed as under review including Northwestern, Berkeley, and UCLA, I believe.

November 21 - in at WashU! And an email about a fellowship at Notre Dame, which sounds pretty cool (but no acceptance email from ND)!

November 26 - invited to interview at Cornell.

November 29 - received WashU scholarship email.

November 30 - in at Minnesota via the status checker! $40K/year scholarship to boot!

December 1 - Cornell online interview. Didn't do as well as the Northwestern interview, but still serviceable.

December 10 - sent LOCI to Vandy, they allow you to do this even if you're pending. It was a LOCI/Why Vandy statement.

December 14 - in at Albany! It's a solid option if I want to practice in NYS, particularly upstate (where I'm from).

December 17 - ED dinged by Northwestern. Found out because status checker did not include seat deposit.

January 2 - status checkers: UR at USC, UT, and Berkeley. I already have asked Northwestern to consider me for RD. Filled out that form the day my ED app was dinged.

January 10 - in at BU! Got the call mid-afternoon.

January 14 - donged at Cornell :( by email.

January 15 - MICHIGAN!! HOLY HECC! Via status checker.

January 25 - $0 at Michigan (shoot). Waitlisted at UCLA. Not a great day.

January 26 - in at Emory!! Award came with admissions offer: 23K/year.

February 5 - in at NDLS! Ice cream time (via status checker - seat deposit indicated)

February 7 - rejected at USC. I remember it not being a great app, I was so tired of applying by the time I hit send for them. Also, rejected for BU PI full ride scholly. Not a great day, once again. Sorry BU that's also a low-ball offer you gave me...

February 13 - a few updates: LOCI to UCLA; also rushing to complete CSS/FAFSA by deadlines.

February 14 - NDLS admissions packet. Included a $25K/year scholarship. Definitely a good option!

February 22 - I will have a bone to pick with NU. Waitlisted. But more so how long it took! I think they waited for the January LSAT even though their letter said I would hear back by the end of January.

March 1 - waitlisted at Texas. Looking like mostly waitlists at the T14 to 15. Not hopeful about negotiating with Michigan.

March 18 - successfully negotiated WashU up from 90K to 120K!

April 1 - decided I don't have enough time to hear back from Vandy, and we've already narrowed down to our top three options. I'm in a unique situation since my SO needs to start job-searching and learning about licensure in other states for PTs. Withdrawn.

April 8 - decision made after visiting WashU. Really enjoyed my visit, no big red flags (just people gunning already and name dropping higher-ranked law schools they got into) and got to really see STL thanks to some friends who live there!

In the next couple days I will have withdrawn all my apps. This will be my last update here on LSN. Wish me luck, and thanks for following.

Good luck on your applications! I'll be joining in the waiting game after I take the LSAT in a couple of weeks.

Any idea why you were WL at 'bama? Your numbers are pretty strong there.

It's only speculation, but I did send them an email thanking them for the CAS waiver and saying "it made me take a more serious look at Alabama Law." I think they may have read between the lines and figured out that there's next to zero chance I'll actually attend.

Same thing happened to me with Alabama! The only decent school to provide a CAS waiver just to waitlist me!

I wonder if anyone else who got a CAS waiver was waitlisted. It came pretty quickly, too. Idk this reads like yield protecting...

howd you hear from USC? Congrats on all your acceptances!

USC rejected me via email.
