Additional info & updates

12-1-09: Complete at Loyola and DePaul.

12-4-09: Called Kent, I'm complete there too.

12-9-09: Decision made according to status checker at Loyola!!! The agonizing wait for a letter in the mail begins...

12-14-09: In at Loyola!!! No word on money yet...

12-15-09: Decision letter in the mail from DePaul.

12-22-09: In at DePaul!!! Dean's Merit Scholarship for $15k a year...woohoo!

1-23-10: Visited DePaul for an open house. Visited last year, but they are definitely excited to see their admitted students. Talked with a few professors, the dean of admissions, and some students focusing on family law, since that's what I'd like to practice. DePaul is in first place for me right now...

1-25-10: Loyola letter, scholly for $5k a year. I may try to negotiate...

2-1-10: Still no word from Kent, so I withdrew. Looking to focus on child and family law, and Loyola and DePaul are both stronger in this area. Wanted to see if I got in at least, but I'd rather take my name out of the running so they can focus on the applicants who would fit better there.

2-3-10: Visited Loyola on my makeshift "open house" day (to sit in on 2 classes, go to an info session and take a tour). First class was great, but was EXTREMELY disappointed and somewhat offended when I was ignored in the admissions office. Apparently they were waiting for other students to arrive, so they ignored me for over a half an hour. The associate dean of admissions was friendly and answered my questions, but when I came back out for my tour, since I again was the only person there, they ignored me again. I took my belongings and left...didn't even stay for that second class I was supposed to sit in on. 99% sure after that experience that I'll be at DePaul...still waiting to see if they match or beat my offer from DePaul though first, since I already did the work...

2-25-10: Sent seat deposit to DePaul...still waiting on financial aid from both DePaul and Loyola though before I withdraw from Loyola.

3-20-10: Got financial aid package from Loyola.

4-5-10: Got financial aid package from DePaul...what I expected/wanted. Withdrew from Loyola.

DEPAUL THIS FALL!
