November 27:

Sent out most of my applications. Surprisingly a lot of fee waivers were given out. I know better though.

December 17:

Deferred from Hasting's early commitment pool.

December 23:

Got back from Vegas and received a big envelope from McGeorge. Received the Dean's Scholarship which is a renewable $15000 per year. I am happy about the acceptance and scholarship but we'll see!

January 3:

Got back to my apartment and checked my mail and saw a big but thin envelope from Colorado. Opened it and was surprised to see find a message of congratulations! This was very unexpected for me and gives me hope for some of the other schools.

January 15:

Checking my email in class right now and received a big CONGRATULATIONS email from Illinois. I am thrilled about this acceptance and now I'm really getting more hope for my California schools. WOO!

January 16:

Woke up in the afternoon with 2 voicemails. One of them was from George Mason. The assistant dean had a very soothing voice.

January 21:

Checked Virginia's AdmitWeb in the morning and saw a lengthy message in the status saying that they loved my personal statement, especially the part where I talked about my mom and how it flowed nicely into my discussion about Asian American identity and then my new found passion for business law. I can't believe I got in!

Not. It was a dream. I'm still waiting for review.

January 29:

Got home and saw the thin envelope from Hastings. UGHHHHHH

January 30:

Checked Berkeley online status and saw the rejection. Looks like all the bad news is now coming in at once.
