Additional info & updates

January 17
In at Cooley.

January 26
Randomly checked UALR's status checker to find out I've been admitted!

January 27
After getting one LOR in on Wednesday, I checked St. Thomas today to find out I've already been admitted! That was a super quick turn around! Hopefully it will bode well for scholarship money.

January 30
In at Akron! They updated my status checker before calling me to let me know about my scholarships. Non resident stipend and $18k merit with high stips. They are offering $500 to come visit so it looks like I'll be going to Ohio soon.

February 1
$8k from St. Thomas 1L year, and $12k to $27k second year depending on rank. Still not cheap but it's a Florida option.

February 6
Finally got my acceptance info from UALR, non resident stipend and $10.5k merit, divided over 3 years.

February 8
"On hold" at Miami and they'll reconsider before April 30th. Better than the straight out rejection I expected. Marked as WL here.

February 10
My last LOR was lost in the mail so it'll be another week before I go complete at all these other schools. Nova changed me from In Review to Committee Review today.

February 14
Last LOR is in, so schools are slowing updating my application to be complete. Now the real waiting begins!

February 15
In at FL Coastal. Also, under review at W&L with a decision date of March 1st.

February 17
$22.5k/year for FL Coastal and complete at GM, Loyola, and Stetson. In at Nova!

February 23
Wait list at Stetson.

March 1
First rejection at W&L.

March 5
Wait list at Loyola - Chicago. I really liked the school when I visited early February. They will make some decisions around late April and another set of decisions after their second seat deposit is due in June. Crossing my fingers for some good news next month!

March 7
Been pretty slow the past few weeks, not as exciting as the beginning of my cycle where the nice acceptances and even better scholarship money was flowing in. I am currently between Nova and St. Thomas to secure my seat in a month. I just sent Nova an email requesting merit aid so I'll let everyone know how that goes. I also e-mailed Pitt since I was never told if my app was complete. They responded quickly to say it was complete and ready for review and I'd get an email within the next week that it was in review. YAY!

March 13
Just as Pitt promised, I got an e-mail today that I'm under review. Come on, Pitt, make this decision even harder for me! Also, denied at GM today.

March 15
Nova gave me a scholarship! Letter's in the mail with the amount so I'll post when I get it. Thank God I live close by because I'm already impatiently waiting.

March 17
$5k from Nova...I was definitely hoping for more.

March 22
Looks like I'm back in review at Miami, they've had a very quick turnaround for decisions so I expect something soon from them. Nice to know before April 30 also, which is the latest they told me to expect an answer. EDIT: Hold to wait list. Way to make a decision, Miami.

March 30
Sent e-mails to UALR, Akron, and Cooley to decline admission.

April 1
Put down my seat deposit at Nova but my cycle is not complete. Still holding out hope for acceptances from FIU or Pitt, or movement from my wait list schools. Crossing my fingers.

April 5
Withdrew from FL Coastal.

April 12
Withdrew from St. Thomas. E-mailed Pitt and FIU to ask when I should expect a decision. Pitt said they're working on having decisions by April 15. FIU said 6-9 weeks and they expect to have a final decision on my application soon. Next Tuesday will be 9 weeks. Also expecting info from at least Stetson and Loyola by the end of the month since their seat deposits are coming up this weekend.

April 17
Dinged at Pitt.

May 17
FIU's decision is in the mail. Accepted off Stetson's WL this morning.

Hi, I was just looking around and noticed we have applied to many similar schools. We also have close stats. Just wondering which schools you really want to go to and why. I'm stuck between attending a school that has offered a good scholarship vs. staying at home vs. being accepted to a second tier school (Hofstra). Anyways, GOOD LUCK with your cycle! Will you let me know when FIU sends you their decision? :) thanks....

Hey, I actually spoke to FIU today and they advised me that they'd begin letting people know by the end of this month. This limbo sucks, especially since law school is four months away, which is pretty crazy. Have you been to any events at Nova?

Yes, I did join the group. The dean is pretty cool, as are most people in the group.
