Additional info & updates

- rough first year and a half then significant improvement in GPA
- personal statement related to experiences early in college
- Good LOR's
- 2 years of work experience at large corporate law firms in NYC
- the more recent "completes" on my profile are because i realized i never heard anything and finally decided to call and check (note: GW isn't filled in mostly because i didn't want them to laugh in my face when they see the huge REJECTION note next to my name)

11/26 - heard from Samford unexpectedly early via packet of information sent to permanent address

11/29 - call from Dean at Richmond to let me know about acceptance and that the package was on the way. also asked me to file my FAFSA papers immediately so she could get me as much scholarship money as possible.

12/18 - rejected from BC, as anticipated... i predict quite a few more coming my way, but i'm trying to hope for the best- ha

01/04 - e-mail from samford offering me an interview for full scholarship

01/06 - tiny envelope from Temple accepting me to the '07 class!!! yay! thrilled to finally have a place i really want to go!

1/18 - on-line status checker for uga says, very vaguely, that i'm waitlisted... it's certainly better than a rejection, but still not quite what i was hoping for

1/19 - e-mail acceptance from Chicago-Kent... says information will follow shortly. yay!

1/24 - WHAT? acceptance from Wash U via e-mail.. pretty much in utter shock right now - didn't see that one coming at all. says information will follow, and a really nice e-mail i might add.

1/26 - Acceptance letter from Chicago-Kent offering me a $15,000 merit scholarship per year!!

1/30 - Got my Wash U letter in the mail!! so excited it's official!

2/2 - Letter from Samford, post-interview, offering me the full Presidential Scholarship!.. ahh, the idea of no debt is so tempting! is it worth it?

2/6 - Call from Dean at Cardozo congratulating me on my acceptance. He said the letter should be arriving shortly. Also, he is a very nice, very happy man. ha ha
-received large packet 2/8

2/9 - Received e-mail from Wake letting me know i've been "deferred" or "waitlisted" - so a bit confusing, but I'm considering it a deferral since they said they reconsider my file and make another decision by April 23rd. A little disappointed cause i thought i'd probably get in there - perhaps this reinforces the fact that wash u was a fluke, a very lucky, very wonderful fluke.

2/15 - FINALLY received second complete Status from UNC
2/16 - Withdrew from UNC before receiving an answer

2/22 - Received a small letter from Cardozo offering me a half scholarship!

3/2 - rej. from emory - not really surprised, and not really upset

3/5 - another rejection from gw. this one is totally expected, but i still hate getting two in a row. it makes me want to withdrawal from everywhere left in fear that all i'll get from now on is one rejection after another...

3/9- withdrew from Villanova

3/23 - received letters from american and w&l waitlisting me... not as bad as i expected
I'M ALMOST DONE, SORT OF - YEEES

3/28 - waitlist from william & mary - i guess it could be a long summer... if i choose to let it be.
decisions, decisions.

4/9 - received an e-mail accepting me to W&L!

4/30 - Received phone call from Melanie Nutt offering me admission to Wake

Same index at American...application completed the same day. Still haven't heard from them, but so many people who completed about the time we did have...wondering what's up with that?

Wow a number twin!

It's nice to know I'm not alone! Good luck with your applications. Why not Fordham? I got into GW, and they seem to be favoring LSATs in their 75% and up if you look at their current acceptances so don't rule it out yet.

Congrats on Wash U... I'll be keeping an eye on you since we have 4 schools in common and the same lsat. I also had one very bad year and an otherwise good GPA. Good luck!

Thanks

I appreciate it... it's nice to be in somewhere that I'd want to go. And don't worry, I bet your acceptance is coming soon.

I told you your acceptance was coming! Congrats! So where are you leaning now? W&L? WashU? Scholarship $$$?

That's probably a safe bet. When I visited I was very impressed with W&L's students and faculty, and I think it really is a great, maybe even underrated, school, albeit in the middle of nowhere. From what I remember from visiting Wash U in high school, the campus is gorgeous and I imagine the students and faculty are great too. Then, for me, I've been an OSU fan since before my first memories and their faculty is amazing as well, although the students didn't seem as sharp as those at W&L or Wash U. I love Columbus though and am confident that I could be near the top of the class there, so I may choose it over some "better" options. I'm not sure yet though. If I got in, I'd visit Wash U and GW but we'll see.

just wondering how long wake gave you to accept admission from the waitlist? if you don't mind me asking, did you accept? i'm still on the waitlist and i'm trying to get an idea of the process. thanks
