It's probably because I didn't get my second LOR in until the end of Oct, so I wasn't complete at most places for awhile. Or it might be that murder charge I had...

How is your DMP paper going? Is this research for it, by any chance? Congrats on your scores and the Harvard call --- you make the DMP look good for the rest of us slackers!

No real secrets...just take those practice tests (make sure to get the real ones from LSAC) to get your consistency/timing down.

Congratulations, and two quick questions
Friday, December 31 2004 at 07:00 PM

Hey, congratulations on the acceptance! I have two questions for you though. It would be awesome if you could answer them. I got a W on my transcript (non-punitive, non GPA counting,) Did you have any Ws on your transcript, or do you know anybody that has one or more and will it affect my acceptance into Harvard, Yale, etc? (Considering I get a high GPA and a high LSAT? (E-mail me or leave a message with the answer in my profile) Also, if you dont mind, could you tell me how you prepared for the LSAT?

Harvard or Columbia?

What about Yale and Stanford? Between Columbia for free and Harvard, I think Columbia gets the nod. Saying you got a Hamilton will open just as many doors as going to Harvard. Plus you won't have loads of debt and you'll get to live in NYC.

hamilton prestige

I wouldn't say that the Hamilton, from a prestige aspect, opens more doors than Harvard (simply because the reasons for my getting a Hamilton are on the resume as well). I see this more as a purely financial benefit.

Yale and Stanford

Oh and as for Yale and Stanford I decided to withdraw my app to Stanford since I knew I wasn't going to go there and I'm still waiting on Yale.

Hamilton

I didn't say getting a Hamilton would open more doors, I just don't think going to Columbia will close any on you.

Columbia, no doubt!
Thursday, September 08 2005 at 08:00 PM

Yes, yes.. the name Harvard will carry you far.. but not far enough to warrant turning down a full-ride from Columbia. Columbia will open a ton of doors for you, and debt free, no doubt. Of course, I'm a bit biased because I'd probably choose Columbia over Harvard myself even if it was the same debt, but I still say Columbia. Either way, you'll be fine!

yeah

they probably (accurately) took my lack of interview as lack of interest. i also don't have any work experience and i heard Northwestern really emphasizes that. congrats on your perfect numbers and resume--if you don't sweep the season, then there is something seriously wrong in this world.

Harvard

mmm... I'm going to have to say Harvard. I'm making a similar decision myself... but come on, it's Harvard. Maybe I'm wrong... but I don't think so.
