Additional info & updates

LSAT increased from low 160s to high 160s thanks to a mid-cycle retake, which changed how the cycle went quite a bit.

Going to Penn in Fall 2007!

Advice: if you have a solid GPA, really try to get that LSAT up even a few points, it should help tremendously.

I got that little white envelope via snail mail with a note saying that I was being deferred. In the note it said 3500 people applied early decision and they deferred ten percent. So I wonder, given that I'd bet at most 20% of those 3150 early action applications were accepted, where are all the rejections on lawschoolnumbers.com? Is it possible that everyone who has heard was accepted? Probably not. It makes me suspect how representative this website is of the true population.

It's not representative, but generally schools wait until the end to reject. They'd rather do their acceptances first and then do the rejections. We'll start seeing rejections soon... and i'll be one of them.

Safeties

I wouldn't call BC a safety. I am waiting to hear from Cornell before deciding whether or not to apply to some other schools. If I do not get a positive result from any of the schools I already applied to by the end of December, I plan on applying to BC, BU and a few other schools.

Congratulations

At our UG school?! how the hell have you NOT gotten into some of those schools on your list? Pleasure taking the LSAT next to you today :-)

Most likely

yes, unless pitt or BLS throws a ton of cash at me... BU is quite expensive and since I'm not anything amazing there I doubt they will be spending their scholarship dollars on me too much. But that's assuming that I didn't get a 180 on Saturday...

UVA

So, I'm taking it that you decided on Penn after all? Congratulations, you had a great cycle!

Heya...
Thursday, March 15 2007 at 08:00 PM

Heya...I'm in the low 160's right now, and I'm retaking my LSAT in June...but I was wondering what you meant by a solid GPA. My GPA is just average, so I was wondering what type of GPA you had to get into the schools you applied to. Sorry if the question is kinda random, but any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Penn followup

Did you do anything to follow up with Penn after you were waitlisted?
