Let's see how accurate the LSAC LSAT/GPA filter is. Here are my admittance predictions from their site. I'm not even going to bother with lawschoolpredictor.com because it listed everything as a deny, which is obviously not true.

Additional info & updates

Single mom 6 years out of undergrad with a strong employment record after school. Hoping the time off and my resume help to counteract my dismal UGPA.

I scattered my applications all over the place in terms of both geography and ranking just to cast as wide a net as possible.

1/24/2012 - First Decision received by email: in at Loyola Chicago! Hoping to get something closer to home to make family visits easier, but I do love Chicago.

1/25/2012 - In at Charlotte via ASO/email.

1/26/2012 - Accepted at DePaul via email.

2/1/2012 - Acceptance email from Elon.

2/2/2012 - In at Mercer via Status Checker.

2/3/2012 - Received DePaul admissions packet by mail with scholarship info: $15,000 per year as long as I keep a 3.20 each semester.

2/4/2012 - Lots of mail today: $20k per year at Elon, renewable with a 2.5 GPA each year (big envelope), $21k at Charlotte with a 3.0 each year (small envelope). Also got a t-shirt from DePaul. Sure, why not?

2/7/2012 - Acceptance letter from Mercer, but no scholarship. I wouldn't pay sticker for a TTT, so no. Also got an acceptance packet from Loyola Chicago, but they don't process their financial aid until next month.

2/9/2012 - Waitlisted at Brooklyn so I just withdrew my app. If I don't get into GSU or one of my T1's, I'm probably going to Loyola Chi or DePaul (whoever's cheaper).

2/10/2012 - Denied at UGA via status checker. No surprise there.

2/10/2012 - Cardozo keeps emailing me to apply, so I finally did even though I don't have much of a chance. Not sure why I applied, I think I was just happy to get an email from someone.

2/23/212 - Denied at Wake via email. That's ok, it was another reach school.

3/5/2012 - Waitlist email from Cardozo with a twist- they give the option of accepting a part time slot this summer that transitions to full time after a year. Interesting.

3/12/2012 - Finally, FINALLY back in review at GSU. They're the difference between staying in my home or moving my family, so I'm pretty anxious to get a decision.

3/16/2012 - Got a small envelope with scholly info from Loyola Chi. $12k per year. Only stip is to remain in good academic standing and resubmit a FAFSA each year. Better than I expected!

3/23/2112 - Rejection emails from W&M and GSU. W&M was expected, but I was devastated by Georgia State. I really don't want to move. Now I'm torn between cheap TTT Elon or the better but more expensive Chicago schools. Distance is also a factor, I want my son to be able to see his family as much as possible and Elon's half the distance from Atlanta.

3/31/2012 - Finally got my acceptance email from Chicago-Kent.

3/31/2012 - Decision time. Elon's off the list because I don't want to go to a TTT or live in North Carolina, so it's down to my three Chicago schools. From everything I've gathered Loyola Chicago sounds like the most respected of the Chicago TT's. I also really liked Loyola a lot, everything from the building to the admissions staff to the students I encountered seemed more mature and professional than the other places I toured, so I just pulled the trigger and paid my seat deposit. It's been fun, thanks for playing!

I'll be applying to several of the same schools (specifically Wake Forest, W&M, and Loyola Chicago) during the 2012/2013 admissions cycle. Your GPA is a little low but considering your circumstances and that you've been out of college for several years will probably mitigate at least some of that. Your LSAT is also above average, which should help. I hope you'll update your profile as you get decisions back as it will help others along the way. Best wishes!

Thank you!

Thank you and good luck to you as well! I know my GPA is a bit of a longshot, but I'm hoping I cast a wide enough net among splitter-friendly schools to get an acceptance or two. I really love being able to check everyone else's stats, so I'll be sure to update my own to help the community. I'll keep my fingers crossed for acceptance letters for both of us!

I assume you are a Georgia State grad? Anyway, good luck with the rest of your cycle!

Wow, we have almost the same numbers. My Wake status check changed to "decision rendered" and I also got an email with the rejection. It was a little upsetting, but without a scholarship I would not have attended anyway. What school are you leaning towards?

Thanks

I will! Thanks for your support. I am interested to see if you get into Wake and Georgia. I applied to both as well and they are definitely reach schools.

If you want to practice in Georgia, than Georgia State would be a great choice. I am not quite as concerned over rank. IMO, outside the t30 and bottom 30, the differences are less significant. For me, it's more about location and price. With that said, I am on the fence between Campbell and South Carolina; unless I get into UNC, which is unlikely.

Congratulations on your cycle thus far! How did Elon notify you of your scholarship and what was the difference in time between admissions and scholarship notification? Good luck the rest of the way!

Congrats on LUC
