Additional info & updates

Clearly I applied to too many schools. Due to my complete failure on the LSAT (and the LSAC inability to approve me for testing accommodations for my extremely well-documented learning disabilities), I opted for the shotgun approach. Join me on this adventure, which will certainly end with a hefty pile of rejections.

Updates:

3/12
Got officially rejected via letter from Berkeley (found out via status checker last week). No shocker there. The only reject I'm surprised about so far is Kentucky. I wanted to go there very badly :( and I thought I had the numbers to do so. Good thing I applied to a ton of school. Somebody has to accept me.

3/14-
Reject via snail mail from Vanderbilt. No surprises. A little $$ from Charleston School of Law.

3/16-
Rejected via mail from Notre Dame, which was expected. Got in via mail to Golden Gate with $$. I'm getting concernd that I haven't gotten into any really good school. All the ones Ive heard from so far are ok at best :(

3/18-
Got a "to be continued" email from Lewis and Clark. They are holding off on making a decision until late April or early May (WHAT?!) about my status. Planning on writing a LOCI for them today. I also got a similar from GA State a while back about them making a decision by the end of April. This seriously messes up my seat deposits :(

3/19-
Rejected via mail from Washington and Lee, which was expected. According to my status checkers, I should be receiving a decision letter soon from Wake Forest (it would take a clerical error for me to get in) and Tennessee (I might have a shot!). Check back for an update for those two.

3/23-
Waitlisted at UTK via snail mail. I'm kind of surprised. I thought I had a pretty good chance at getting in. I'm officially getting very concerned that I've only gotten into non tier 1 schools.

3/25-
Waitlisted at W&M! I'm actually excited about this b/c a) I pretty much knew they were not going to flat out accept me b) they offer seats to a lot of people off the WL (so I've heard) and c) I loooooove W&M.
Also, rejected by Wake, which was expected. I don't really care b/c I like W&M better

3/26-
Rejected by Georgetown via mail. Surprised they didn't reject me sooner.

4/1-
Drexel's deposit was due today. I'm still holding out for a good school to accept me, so I withdrew. More withdrawls are on the horizen, but I'm going to wait until it gets closer to deposit time in the hopes I can put a deposit on a school I actually want to go to.

4/1-
Reject from Duke via snail mail. Expected. Went complete at Pepperdine.

4/4-
FINALLY accepted to a tier one school (barely). University of Louisville accepted me via snail mail. I'm planning on putting a seat deposit down at the last minute, as I'm still waiting for better schools to make a decision. (Tulane, you're killing me. At least put me in review.) Today, I will withdraw from all the other schools I've gotten into. I am keeping Willamette for now, just b/c I don't want to be locked into Louisville if I don't get into anywhere else.

4/7-
Rejected from Baylor for the fall, but offered a seat for Spring 2010. No thanks. Wasn't too impressed by the school anyway and no way I'm sticking around until spring to go there.

4/9-
Rejected from Irvine via postal mail. Don't really care. Only applied b/c it would have been freeeee for three years.

4/10-
Rejected fom University of Alabama via mail to my parent's house. Alabama, thanks for letting me find out by text message from my dad.

Rejected from Harvard via email. The only thing I wonder is why it took them this long to ding me.

4/11-
WL at U. of Richmond via mail. This is the best I could have realistically hoped for. In the letter they urged me to retake the LSAT in June, which is a coincidence b/c....

I just signed up to retake the test in June. I'm still coming to terms with the idea that I have to take that horrible, awful test again. But I got a fee weaver for it so its free. I'm hoping it will get me off some waitlists.

4/14-
Waitlisted at Lewis and Clark via email.

4/16-
Rejected from Case Western via mail. I knew I'd be on the fence with that school. I applied super late, which probably didn't help

4/20-
Rejected via mail from University of Utah.

Big day! Sent in a seat deposit for the University of Louisville. I'm on the fence about this. I'm excited, but there are other schools I'd rather go to. At least I FINALLY went into review at Tulane three days ago. I don't have much hope, b/c I'm sure their seats are full by now. I'm more than a little peeved about how Tulane handled their admission process this year. Also, I withdrew from Willamette today.

4/22-
WL email from Tulane. I'm pissed about this for a large number of reasons. I'm going to wait this one out too, as its one of the top choices on my growing list of WLs.

4/23-
Rejected from Georgia State. Kind of surprised b/c my numbers are very competitive for them. I was excited about the school in the fall, but the more I learned about it, the more I realized it wasn't for me. I'm ok with the decision and probably wouldn't have gone even if they had accepted me. Honestly, nothing could really disappoint me after the Tulane WL yesterday.

4/30-
Rejected via mail from Colorado. Not surprised.
I also got a letter today from Tulane telling me again I'm WL. Thanks for reminding me how mad I am about that whole situation.

5/3-
Withdrew from UT WL. I don't know why, but I just didn't care enough about the school to make the extra effort to get off the WL. Maybe its because I don't like Orange. I'm planning on waiting for the rest.

5/5-
WL at Denver via email. I'm going to stay on this waitlist.

5/12-
Rejected from Pepperdine. I'm kind of surprised that I didn't get at least WL, but they probably could tell my mission statement essay was BS and I went complete pretty late. Oh well, it was way too expensive anyway.

Good luck. I figured this was you based on all the schools you told me you applied to. Best of luck with your other schools. I am pinning my hopes on Wake or Texas Tech. Not much money coming my way so far. Thanks for all the help applying too. -DB

You should get off the waitlist. Your scores are pretty close to mine. I sent in my seat deposit for Tulane on Monday after I visited on Accepted Students Day. Good luck, it would be nice to know someone at Tulane.
