I heard from UMKC via snail mail. I haven't gotten any rejections, waitlists, or deferalls from anything but snail mail. Good luck though, I was rejected at two of your last three and UM-Columbia is even harder so if you end up at Washburn let me know, maybe we can help one another out. I've included my e-mail as a better way to get ahold of me if you do
Thanks for the UMKC information. The school recently reopened my application due to a misunderstanding so I am waiting to hear from them all over again. I live in MO so MU and UMKC are my top choices. I will definitely email you if you I end up attending Washburn.
It was snail. If you want my two cents, don't bother with the place. They seemed pretty inept to me. I visited Washburn and loved the place. I turned it down because of geographic reasons, but they are number one in my heart. Obviously, I don't know your situation, but I think Wash is far better in terms of community and how well they want you to succeed. I know some students and faculty there from other parts of my life and they are all stand-up people.
Hey the email told me "We are getting ready to process our waitlist for this year's entering class. We would appreciate if you could let us know by Thursday, April 10th at 9 a.m. if you want us to continue to consider your application or if you have accepted placement elsewhere. All you need to do is respond back to this email." I don't know exactly what they mean by "processing their waitlist", but I emailed them back saying I was still interested and Michelle said they will be in touch soon. Is that the same email you received? If so, that's odd that they told you they are full and yet they sent us this email....
I got an email from them askign if I wanted to be on the waitlist, and after that I talked with someone from the admissions department a few times. She told me I was on it, that they don't rank it, and that I would hear something mroe on Monday. Did you get something in the mail? You heard anything from UMKC yet?
I received a phone call from the admissions office at UMKC offering me admission.
I emailed them for a status check, they said they supposedly sent a letter on 3/31, but told me in the email.
They notified me by snail mail. Single sheet of paper. Best of luck to you on the rest of your applications.
Congrats on Washburn. I'm looking to go there and I'm really excited about everything I've seen so far. Good luck on the rest of your schools.
