Additional info & updates

I work for the United States Attorney's Office.

I am retaking the LSAT in February after I was advised by a dean of admissions to do so.

I would appreciate any comments that anyone has. Thanks.

I got accepted in Thomas M. Cooley. This was expected considering the criteria they require.

02-23-07
I didn't get accepted automatically. They want me to attend their Summer Program to earn my seat. I would have to take Legal Research and Legal Writing for nine weeks. The classes cost $3,600 but they gave me a $3,000 grant. It is definitely something I am considering.

03-02-07
Received my LSAT score. I would have liked it to be higher but I will take any improvement.

03-15-07
I got a letter from Texas Wesleyan saying that my application was not going to be decided until a later date. Then, I got an email saying that my final decision would be the first week of April. Hopefully, they will accept me.

03-18-07
I got an email from Florida Coastal saying that my application was waitlisted. We will see what happens.

3-20-07
Got an e-mail from Oklahoma City telling me that I do not have to take the summer program because I have been officially accepted. Also, they would let me know about scholarship money.

Hope it goes well for you. How do you like working at the US Attorney's Office? I am at a very large firm, you learn a lot and meet some really great people too. Your GPA is really strong, hope it gets you into the school of your choice!

Applications and PS

My applications are in the works, and I am hoping to have a few out in the next couple of weeks. As for my PS, I don't think it is anything great, but I think it will be strong enough. I am just writing about my background, my work experience, and what has lead me to apply to law school. Work experience is what I am hoping sets me apart. Hopefully, it will help you as well. Good luck and let me know how things go!

With such a strong GPA, did something happen on test day?

about CLEO, I actually decided not to apply through them since I am going to try and get into to LS through my own merrits. In my opinion it doesnt seem reasonable to spend 2,000.00 plus your summer to attend a program where you may or may not be admitted to LS once you complete it, have you heard from anyone who actually went through the CLEO program and went on to a decent school?

cooley

first i would have to say the poor reputation. second the weather in michigan is way too cold. cooley is also in a very small legal market. it doesnt seem like there would be too many opportunities there.
