For southwestern, I sent in the optional two essays they allowed. What happened with them is I was sure they didn't know much about my school (Miami of Ohio) and it being the 17th best business program in the country. In my essay I mentioned that I was graduating cum laude from Miami with a b.s. in marketing from the 17th best business program in the country. A week later, I get a call guaging my interest in the school. I say I want to go there, and they say I'm in.
