Additional info & updates

I'm pretty much a true splitter. I have one major soft factor in my favor, my seven years of work experience in legal research after leaving college. Otherwise, I have a few volunteer positions and that's about it.

The GPA is pure youthful stupidity. My GPA addendum pretty much consisted of, "I know I screwed up; I won't do it again."

Chiashu percentages are by the school names.

12/19/07 - Woo hoo! First acceptance--Minnesota! One of the ones highest on my list, barring the rather unlikely T14 schools. A nice phone call from the dean of admissions. I'm going to law school!

I'm now basically only interested in Columbia, Georgetown, Michigan, Virginia, Cornell, Northwestern, George Washington, Washington University in St. Louis, Illinois, and possibly Wisconsin, barring any full-tuition scholarship offers or similar. I've received $2500 a year in scholarship money from Minnesota, which combined with the Minnesota-Wisconsin reciprocity agreement (roughly equivalent to a $9500/year guaranteed scholarship) will make Minnesota's offer a tough one to beat.

01/03/08 - Washington in St. Louis (via e-mail)! No word on any money yet, however. . .

01/07/08 - Illinois with 15K per year! Also a letter from Washington in St. Louis confirming the e-mail. No money, however. 3-0 so far, although I'm sure that will change.

01/09/08 - Lewis & Clark with 6K per year. No real interest anymore, though. Still, 4-0.

01/28/08 - Wow--here I thought it was all starting to get sewn up, that I would definitely be attending Minnesota, and then I get $90,000 from WUSTL. So, now it's between those two, barring a surprise. Also, my first rejection--George Mason? Weird. . .thought that would be automatic. Not that I care anymore, but odd.

Thanks! I'm sure you have some love coming from a bunch of places. Where are you hoping to go?

I don't know...

...exactly where I want to go because it changes quite a bit. I really would love to go to Cornell, UVA, and Michigan. I would really like to get an acceptance at Georgetown since I went to decision there the other day. I would have to look at UW too but just because its in my hometown.
