Additional info & updates

Good luck to everyone applying this year!

10/20 - Finally finished personal statement. Going to send out most applications in the next few days.

10/31 - Got a letter from Michigan offering a fee waiver. Wasn't planning on applying, but I guess I may as well.

11/6 - Finished the 250-word essay for Yale! Will send out that application in a couple days - then I'm all done!

11/8 - Complete at Penn, Georgetown, and Duke. Hopefully will start hearing back soon. Also got a fee waiver in the mail from Cornell, but I think 9 schools is more than enough.

11/11 - Yale application has been sent. Now I just have to wait for decisions! Oh yeah, and talk to Toby Stock from Harvard.

11/17 - Acceptance from Duke! I'm going to law school! Also complete at Harvard. Gulp. Toby Stock called today. He seems like a nice guy.

11/22 - Toby Stock called again to say I have been accepted to class of 2010 at Harvard!!! Now that's what I call good news. Also complete at Yale - now i can just sit back and wait for that decision. Thanks for taking some pressure off, Toby.

12/1 - Georgetown acceptance, small envelope.

12/11 - NYU acceptance, large manilla envelope with violet binder inside. Also received a letter from Michigan saying that my application is complete.

12/21 - Received deferral notice from Penn. Go figure.

1/4 - Complete at Stanford. Got a letter from Michigan informing me that they've reviewed my app, but haven't made a decision yet. Guess that means deferred. Doesn't matter, I'll be withdrawing from Duke, Penn, Georgetown, and Michigan within the next couple weeks.

1/25 - Accepted at Columbia with a full tuition scholarship (Hamilton Fellowship, which I did not apply for)! They're not making my decision easy. Anyone have any thoughts: Columbia w/ $$$ v. Harvard?

2/16 - Withdrew from Georgetown, Duke, Penn, and Michigan.

2/23 - Withdrawals from Michigan and Penn confirmed via email.

3/27 - Stanford phone call, 4:18pm. Apologized for taking so long, and then told me my application was complete. At first I thought that's all she was going to say, but then she added that I had been accepted. So I was like, "cool." And it is.

3/30 - And the hunt is finally over. Finished up 6 out of 7, not too shabby. Anyhow, looks like I'll be in Cambridge for the next 3 years. Good deal.

4/3 - Time to start sending out withdrawals - gonna be painful saying goodbye to $132K from Columbia.

4/12 - Sent out withdrawals to CLS, SLS, and NYU. Sent the deposit in to HLS. It's officially official, I'm going to Harvard.

I hear you. But for the rest of us who do care a lot about Penn, do you think you could withdraw? Thanks, and good luck with the big guns.
