Any idea why you might've gotten dinged by BC? Your numbers should've pushsed you in. C&F issue? Good luck on the rest of your cycle!

I have no idea, actually. I have no C&F issues whatsoever. Really, I couldn't believe it when I saw it.

Congrats on your acceptance! How did you hear about the scholarship?

Thanks, I was called at 10pm on a week night (december 7th) by the dean. We talked for about 15 minutes about the school and what scholarship offer I would receive. The dean told me the school will be offering me a full-tuition scholarship, and that the admissions package will be coming in the near future.

Congrats on all of your acceptances. Did Iowa inform you of the scholarship at the same time as your acceptance?

Iowa

Thank you! Iowa emailed me my acceptance on Dec. 5th and I received a scholarship offer by email on Dec. 10th. I also received a letter by snail mail dated Dec. 10th that detailed further information about my acceptance and included a handwritten note commenting on my personal statement. Hope that helps and best of luck!

I haven't heard of anyone who got their acceptance through the mail, did your status checker ever update?

UNC

I hadn't looked at any of the status checkers since before Christmas, so it is entirely probable that I would have heard the news there first if I had looked. Grats on W&L and Richmond. Good luck on the rest of your cycle, my friend!

C&F

what does C&F mean?

C&F
Thursday, July 04 2013 at 05:18 AM

It is a shortened version of character and fitness. It means if I had a c&f issue that I had some disciplinary problems in college, or some run-ins with law enforcement. Drunk driving, cheating on tests, etc. Luckily I don't have any that might prevent law schools from accepting me.

Congrats!

IU vs. Richmond
Friday, January 09 2015 at 08:04 PM

Were there any stips on your scholarship to IU-Bloomington? I just applied there yesterday and I'm hoping for a similar scholarship. I have very similar numbers to you and I've received similar offers. Only other school that mentioned a full ride, however, was UR. I've visited UR twice now and really liked the school.. but IU does have better employment numbers.. What are your thoughts on the two schools?

IU v. Richmond
Thursday, July 04 2013 at 05:18 AM

If I was forced to pick between the two schools, barring strong ties to Virginia and very different COA, I would pick IU. It is better in just about every way that I can think of. I recommend taking a close look at the Law School Transparency website to get more in-depth info about schools. That will make the choice a lot easier. The only stipulation on my scholarship was good standing with the University.
