Nothing spectacular. I wrote a cover story to some magazine once.

If you're from Cornell, you should drop me a message ;)

Additional info & updates

11-21 I'm officially a law student! I'll be at least attending Duke Law next fall.

11-28 Got the blue package from Duke by mail.

12-04 Received Georgetown's acceptance letter (dated December 1) in a deceptively small envelope. Personalized messages from the dean of admissions are always nice.

12-05 Got a HUGE package from Vanderbilt. You can work out your biceps with this package. Damn

12-13 Received Cornell's acceptance via snail mail. Letter is dated December 11. Again, personalized messages from the dean of admissions are always nice. It seems though all deans write with blue felt-tip pens? One thing I should mention: Cornell gave me a fee waiver several weeks AFTER I had sent my application.

12-16 My last day as a first-semester senior was greeted by an e-mail from Notre Dame, which notified me that I have been accepted with an annually renewable scholarship of $19,000.

12-19 Got a call from UT Law's dean of admissions regarding my acceptance.

1-06 While ice skating at Bryant Park (NYC), I got a call from the office of admissions at Cardozo. Should I attend the school, I'll get a full ride and an annual stipend of $10,000. Word

1-12 Got a letter from UT Law notifying that I have been awarded the Townes Hall Society Scholarship ($7,000 per year AND I get to pay resident tuition, which, in total, adds up to about 23,000 saved per year).

1-13 Waitlisted by Northwestern via e-mail. I blame the fact that I have no work experience >=)

1-20 Got a call after 8pm from the assistant dean of admissions at UCLA that I have been accepted with the total scholarship of $75,000.

1-28 Got an e-mail from Penn Law that I have been waitlisted. Mwahaha

2-7 Got a small envelope in the mail from UChicago, and we all know what that means. I'm placed on "Hold". Poo

2-17 Got a small envelope in the mail from Columbia. I'm placed on "Hold." What is this, a Hold-parade?

2-23 I finally broke into the top ten! Got Michigan Law's letter of acceptance via snail mail. In the package were a sleek blue folder and a USB drive.

2-27 Received a letter from Michigan Law that I have been chosen to receive the Dean's Scholarship (15,000 a year) should I choose to go there. Word!!!

3-3 Got an email from UVA saying that I got waitlisted. >:o

3-9 Got a letter from Vanderbilt notifying me that I have been offered the Chancellor's Law Scholarship (an annually renewable scholarship of $24,000).

3-16 Got a letter from Duke notifying me that I have been offered the Dean's Scholarship ($66,000 disbursed over three years).

4-15 Got waitlisted by Harvard via e-mail and straight up rejected by Yale via e-mail.

4-20 Waitlisted by Columbia via snail mail.

4-21 Waitlisted by NYU via snail mail.

4-27 There we have it folks. I am the king of waitlists. Waitlisted by Stanford via snail mail.

5-26 It's actually possible to get off the waitlist?!?! Got a call from UChicago saying that I got in.

6-17 I got an email from Columbia stating that I never responded to their waitlist offer. But, hmm, I thought I did! Today, by the way, is also my birthday. What a nice gift, indeed!

9-12 So, I'm back on LSN. As of now, neither Stanford nor NYU got back to me about the waitlist. Hmm. Well, I'm going to leave for Chicago in a week, so I guess it doesn't matter?

GO GO GO! UChicago 2012!

Monday, December 01 2008 at 07:00 PM

yep, yep, yep priority track :-) cant waiiiittttt to hear back from them because that's gonna pretty much make me or break me (cause if I'm not getting into Duke, then I'm DEF not getting in anywhere else) woohoo! good luck!!!

hey

Thanks for the message, sorry i've been lazy checking them. We've got pretty similar numbers so will be interesting to watch your cycle. And why no Berkeley? I just got in there, so I assume you'd have a good chance.

oh nooo

dude, looks like I broke your theory of priority track = guaranteed acceptance :-( :-( :-(

Congrats on Texas!

hehe, no I didn't, but I know someone who got in with a 3.6 and a 169 without one... :-)

Actually I go to Brown -- was born and raised in Ithaca, NY. For me, I'm pretty sure I'm going to Michigan unless I get into Columbia or Chicago. Cost of living + same peer reputation + no scholarship money + the fact that I'm not a huge fan of NYC puts NYU out of the running even if I get accepted. Duke was amazing, but I expect Michigan to woo me even further.

wait, wait...
