Additional info & updates

Applying for the 2009-2010 cycle. Hoping to break 170 on the LSAT in September. We'll see what happens. A lot is riding on this test and I might add or delete some applications based on my score.

9/8/09 - studying like a madwoman for the lsat in TWO WEEKS. yikes. I'm basically doing as many logic games as I can get my hands on. So far I've been doing pretty well with RC, just need as much practice with logic games and AR as possible. As soon as this is over I'm writing my PS and getting these bad boys submitted. Hopefully by mid-October.

9/19/09 - LSAT in ONE WEEK! Yikes. I have two full days off this week, using them to get some last minute studying in. At this point I'm as prepared as I'm gonna be.
9/20/09 - Got my recommenders lined up. One strong letter from the professor I research for and an average letter from another prof from a previous semester. Ugh. Don't know if I should try for another letter, I consider this the most annoying part of the application process.
9/21/09 - Anyone else using the Kaplan Study Guides? I bought the general 2009-10 edition as well as the specific ones for "Advanced Students" and Logic Games. Overall, I think they're helpful but I found A LOT of typos/misprints, and some answer explanations that were just plain wrong. It's pretty frustrating.
9/24/09 - Got an email with a fee waiver from Washington and Lee University. Not sure if I'll use it though.
9/26/09 - LSAT D-day. Ugh. I did ok on everything but games, which totally threw me (PLANES!). I really hope I don't have to take it again....

170/3.59

With a 170/3.59 GPA you could basically go anywhere... Your school choices are def WAY below what an 170 would get you. Everything but HYS would be a sure thing with those scores assuming you got them. Harvard would probably accept you off a waitlist if not right away.

Fordham

You're right, even though Fordham doesn't require LORs, you should probably send one or more. I sent 3 (2 professors and 1 employer). I think any number of LORs between 1 and 3 would be perfectly appropriate. Good luck with apps, and good luck with the September LSAT!

Fee Waivers

I requested Michigan and Virginia and they granted them early in the process, but then I got all of them in the batches that were sent out because of LSDAS. Was pretty surprised about Columbia, NYU and Chicago, in all honesty. Post-LSAT this month, give it about a month to get them and then send some requests if you don't get the ones you want. Good luck!!

Thanks, I just noticed your comment on my page, I haven't been practice testing well so I think Fordam and most of the other schools I listed are out lol. GOOD LUCK on your cycle!

Fee Waivers

Sorry I never noticed your comment on my page. I requested (and was granted) a fee waiver through LSAC. If they grant you a waiver, then pretty much all the top schools save for a few (i.e. N'Western, Gtown, Texas) will auto waive their fees. The other ones you have to show proof of the waiver or fill out a school-specific form. I hope that helps. I heard the scores came out. Hope you did as well as you wanted.
