Additional info & updates

6/18/09 - Signed up to take the September 26th LSAT at Eckerd College. I hope testing conditions are better than they were at UF in December 2008. I will be applying for the 2009-2010 cycle. I've been studying for about 2 months heavy duty now so here's to making at least a 160!

9/28/09 - Took the Sept 26th LSAT a few days ago. I feel okay about it although I ran out of time on every section but only had to guess on about 5 per section. I still feel decent even with the guessing so we shall see. I think I did well enough that I won't need to retake, but we shall see.

10/20/09 - LSAT score came back painfully lower than I was expecting. I cried, picked myself up and am going to give it one more shot in December before I apply. I know it's going to hurt to apply at the very beginning of Jan., but my score was so pitiful that I doubt I'd even get in to a law school, so it's imperative I re-take. I know the time constraint absolutely killed me, so for the next 6 weeks I'm going to do nothing but PTs and reviewing my wrong answers. I'd just like to improve by 7-10 points. That should get me into most of my safeties and a few targets. I'm not aiming for HYS; however, I would like to go to a decent regional school regardless of rank. Don't ever give up.

11/2/09 - Still studying to take the LSAT again Dec. 5. It's going decent. Just applied to Valparaiso University on a merit-based fee waiver. This will probably be the only school I apply to until I get my LSAT score back at the end of December.

11/7/09 - Valparaiso University has all my documents but I won't be complete until they receive my new LSAT score. I'm already stressed out and my cycle hasn't even begun yet! I probably won't know a decision until much later with the other apps.

11/15/09 - Got another merit-based fee waiver from Mercer University. I'm a little surprised at the fee waivers as my LSAT is much weaker than my GPA. I think it's safe to assume that my GPA may help me out quite a bit.

12/11/09: Took the December 2009 LSAT. I felt a lot better. I actually finished two sections, and felt decent on reading comp. Logic Games weren't hard but I couldn't finish...I had to guess on a game and a half. That will be the only section that might hurt me; however, I feel a definite improvement coming on. I'm perfecting the rest of my apps and getting them ready. They will all go out at the same time as soon as my score comes out--around December 23rd.

12/28/09: I received my LSAT score today. A whole 6 points higher than last time so that was awesome! Sent 5 applications today. I will send out more tomorrow and hope to finish by the end of this week.

1/1/10: Happy New Year! Almost done with apps. I discovered a very small spelling typo on my PS, which I had sent to 6 six already. It's not incredibly glaring but as a journalist, it's driving me nuts. I hope it's overlooked. It's fixed now...before I apply to last 5-6 or so.

1/7/10: Finished all applications and I'm just starting to get complete emails and received emails. I probably won't start hearing back from schools for another 2-3 months, but I'm so glad I'm done. Thanks God most school take the highest LSAT too. I will update this site as acceptances/rejections come in. Good luck everyone!

1/25/10: In at Valparaiso Law with a full-tuition scholarship for all three years! I can't freaking believe it. I have to maintain a 3.0 to have the award renewed for my second and third years but that's more than doable. Also, got dinged at George Mason, but I was more than expecting that one.

1/27/10: Waitlisted at Loyola via a very nice letter yesterday. I'm actually pretty stoked about that one. I'll hang out on the waitlist for a little, but I doubt I'll stay on the entire time. I hate that I have to make a law school decision by April 1st. I really hope to hear back from all, if not, most of the schools by the last few weeks in March. This is killer.

1/28/10: Accepted to Southwestern via status checker with scholarship (waiting on the letter with specifics!) and accepted to Western New England via phone call from assistant director of admissions! She made me feel so good about myself. Probably will withdraw from Western New England because their bar passage rate is so weak among other factors.

2/8/10: Accepted to University of the Pacific with $10,000/yr. scholarship and first year books paid for including casebooks! I'm excited about this one!

2/11/10: On hold for a second review at University of Illinois! There's hope! I'm pretty stoked about that.

2/18/10: Deferred at Rutgers. I'm kind of disappointed about that, but oh well. I guess I'm still giving them a run for their money, but I would have loved to have a decision by now!

3/1/10: Just got back from a wonderful vacation in Chicago and to a lot of law school letters in the mail. I'm currently waitlisted or deferred at 6 schools right now. It's getting down to the wire, and I will need to mail in a seat deposit to the school I decide on in 3 weeks. I'm dying to hear back from Suffolk, Northeastern and UF. Once I hear back from them I think I'll be able to sleep a little better. I was also accepted at Stetson today via PT. I don't like Tampa very much, but it's a great school so I'll have to think about it.

3/8/10: Accepted to Kent via e-mail! So stoked! I think kent tops my list right now regardless of my full scholly at Valpo. I'm seriously hoping for some money though...it'd be great to even get $10,000. Fingers crossed!

6/10/10: Well, the wait is over. I've spent 6 LONG months researching, analyzing and thinking about my decision and I'm happy and proud to announce I'll be at Chicago-Kent in the Fall! No crippling debt, awesome area, solid school. I'd love for Chicago-Kent to get back up to the 60's though. See you all there in the Fall!

LSAT Dec 2008

Hello, Were you also present at the December 2008 LSAT at UF? It wasn't all that bad since they split us up into smaller groups. I was very ill that day and did not do well on the exam. I am also retaking. Looks like you have great factors. Good Luck to you!

Hi hopeful-- I was present at the December 2008 UF exam. The testing conditions weren't that great for me. They sat some people who were right-handed at left-handed desks, there was someone coughing the entire time and the proctor wasn't doing so hot with keeping the time. I ended up canceling my score, so I'm not even sure how I would have done. Good luck to you too!
