Extra Curricular Information

Spent 2 years at a community college before transferring to a UC. I struggled a bit and took awhile to get used to the quarter system, hence the low degree GPA. Hopefully schools won't mind that GPA too much and focus more on my cumulative GPA.

I can already guess where I'll be receiving a rejection letter, but since I qualified for the LSAC fee waiver, it only costs $12 to apply to each school.

All scholarships are based per year.

02/20/09
- First rejection letter from George Mason via snail mail. As expected.

02/21/09
- Acceptance letter from Western State with 22K scholarship renewable every year with a 2.80.

03/04/09
- Acceptance email from Whittier Law School. No scholarship info yet. Whittier has been on ABA probation for the past few years, but I think they are again fully accredited. Still, the 1L attrition scares me- 51%.

03/06/09
- Acceptance letter from University of La Verne with $26,500 scholarship renewable every year if I maintain top 30% ranking.

03/09/09
- Rejection from Penn State in a thin envelope. Goodbye Pennsylvania...

03/16/09
- Rejection from American in a thin envelope. Goodbye DC...
- $16,500 scholarship offer from Whittier. Must maintain top 5% to renew whole amount. Yes, you read that right. Top 5%.

04/23/09
- Finally some more activity! Rejection from UC Davis as expected.

05/02/09
- Wailisted at Seattle Univ.
- Waitlisted at Santa Clara.
- I guess it's better than getting two rejections.

05/07/09
- Rejection from USD. My cycle is nearly over, but Chapman still hasn't gotten back to me yet. This sucks because they are actually my number one choice. Come on, Chapman! Holla back, soon!!!

05/13/09
- Acceptance from Chapman via online status checker. I've been waiting to hear a response from them for a while now so I'm happy I'm in. No money though so that kind of sucks.

06/08/09
- Retook the LSAT.

06/25/09
- Received higher LSAT.
- Appealed to USD and Penn State.

07/01/09
- Got the appeal for Penn State. I'm in!
- Emailed Chapman about scholarship money and received 50% tuition.

- Got the appeal for USD. I'm in!

I transferred as well; sadly, my degree GPA is greater than my LSAC one. Congrats on Western State!
