Hey! I'll probably be applying mid-October, though it depends on my recs and when I'm done writing my statements... I don't know what the index means, I've been wondering that too. If you figure it out, please let me know. Good luck with the cycle!

Saturday, January 05 2008 at 07:00 PM

Umm apply early and thats about it really. Go to students of color website and it explains more about the law school process sign up for cleo or leo and all the scholarships. Good luck

Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

We have similar numbers..Good luck this cycle.

Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thank you. No I haven't. Thank you for reminding me. GW's app goes up on Oct. 1. What's your top choice? What type of law do you want to practice. I am pretty anxious to get this whole process over.

Tuesday, September 02 2008 at 08:00 PM

buena suerte! looks like we're applying to many of the same places with similar stats. -rosa

Cardozo
Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

Don't get me wrong Manhattan seems cool. My mom goes there a lot for business. Cardozo has a BLAW program that interests me. But, I don't see myself living in New York past 3 years given the "cramped quarters" and the fact that I don't think I can be around Yankee, Giants or Jets fans for too long. I am still considering it, but I don't want to have to move too many times. We shall see, I might apply.

Best wishes with your application to the UB Law School. This fall it admitted its most talented class ever.

Power of Persuasion
Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

So, I've given it some thought and you were right. I am applying to Cardozo. I think this means you just might be a pretty good lawyer. Thanks.

Tuesday, July 22 2008 at 08:00 PM

Hey! Good luck to you too. What's your top choice?

UB LAW
Friday, January 12 2007 at 07:00 PM

Our new dean is a "mover and a shaker"...before UB he was head of the Human Rights Center at Harvard Law School. UB is moving 'on up"...great time to join us.

Thanks!
Tuesday, September 09 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the info! Yeah, hopefully they look for the whole package. Oh and I was wondering, how did you go about getting your fee waivers? Did you apply for them individually? Good luck with your cycle!

Cardozo
Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

Did you get the Cardozo info packet? I thought the CD was going to be a tour of the campus, but it's just the application and instructions. I did notice that their tuition went up $3,000, though. Good luck I am watching your cycle.

Tuesday, July 22 2008 at 08:00 PM

Good luck with GW. I received the package with the info on the early decision, and as tempting as it sounded I could not take it. I am not sure what school I REALLY want to go to. I am trying to keep an open mind.

Wow!
Monday, July 07 2008 at 08:00 PM

Complete at Duke and Fordham!!! I wonder when you'll start hearing back! I'm a female Hispanic too but I have not gotten out as many apps yet! Thanks for the inspiration.

It's me

Check out my profile and let me know what you think.

Congratulations
Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

No you did not mention you had your NW interview. I am glad it went well. I have my apps done, I am just finishing up my personal statement and addendum, probably this weekend. My 1st LOR is in and the other two should be mailed out by next week. I have to deal with this transcript thing at a community college, for a class I didn't take, but other than that everything is on schedule. I decided not to apply to GW but I am still rooting for you.

Thank You
Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

But....I am not applying to San Francisco, but I am now researching opportunities at other bar associations. I check your page all the time for the acceptances I know you will get.

Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

So my NW interview is next Wednesday. Dun Dun Dun....I'm about two weeks away from sending out apps and then we are practically in the same boat with the waiting game.

Early
Thursday, September 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

Wow! You got everything out really early. I feel like a slacker now...lol I'm sure you will have a lot of positive reponses!

Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thank you. I will. I hope you sent a thank you note/email. I heard those go a long way. One of those decisions should come back accepted any day now.

Thursday, September 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

Yea, I am getting about four apps together now to get out before my Dec score comes. Hopefully, I will have them done by mid-Nov. Actually, I hope before then. I am still waiting for two of my recommenders to send in their letters. Then I will be done with Howard, Syracuse, IU-Indianapolis, and Stetson. I'm planning to send out the rest when I get my Dec. score, though! I regret rescheduling, b/c I could have been finished when the October scores came :-/ O well!! You should be hearing kind of soon about a few of your apps, right?

Monday, October 15 2007 at 08:00 PM

haha, I got the speedy acceptances because I applied for Spring semester. Good luck this cycle- you have a lot of schools and great numbers!

Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

Does complete mean the Law School is done with your file or that they received the law school report?

Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thank you. you have been so helpful. I think my Northwestern interview went pretty well. She was impressed that I worked throughout undergrad and the classes that I took. We talked for an hour and she laughed a lot, so hopefully those are good signs.

Thanks
Tuesday, September 02 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thank you. Good luck to you also. My #1 is Howard. How about you??

Wednesday, September 17 2008 at 08:00 PM

Best of luck at American and all the schools you applied to. It looks like we are applying to similar schools.

Tuesday, July 22 2008 at 08:00 PM

I don't know if I will end up accepting Miami although it seems like the safest so far.

Sunday, October 26 2008 at 08:00 PM

I'm impressed with your school list, I'm applying to a lot of the same schools. It looks like we have similar numbers. Good luck this cycle and any tips you can give me in the application process would be great. Thanks.

Sunday, June 22 2008 at 08:00 PM

Not yet... I have applied for merit scholarships- I think I am supposed to hear back from them by January.

Tuesday, July 22 2008 at 08:00 PM

That's exactly what I am doing. I paid for almost all the applications so I might as well wait and see what they have to say. Luckily my classes have distracted me a lot from the anxiety of waiting and I am still hoping that some schools will respond by December =0) but I might just be a little too optimistic.

Hey
Tuesday, September 02 2008 at 08:00 PM

I'm doing BC and GW regular. I had planned on EA for BC, but I kept revising my personal statement and was waiting for some feedback. Of course I wish I had done it now. The wait will kill me and at least I would have known by mid-Decembers. Sighs, that's the life of a law school applicant...waiting. Best wishes this cycle!!

Good Luck
Saturday, October 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

We are applying to a few of the same schools and have similar numbers. Good luck with your cycle!

Thank you
Saturday, October 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

Yeah, I had a really strong app and great lor. For my ps, I used a creative approach and set up a scene where I was doing yoga and flashbacked to another time when I was volunteering at a homeless shelter in NYC. I also sent an addendum concerning my lsat score. I think I will send in a continued letter of interest the first of the year. For Cornell, I sent in the Dean's cert and my status checker still hadn't gone complete so I called but they have it. On TLS some people have called and they said they will still consider you EA as long as you have everything else. Whew, this is getting long! Sorry! Hopefully we both get in!

Hofstra & Brooklyn
Saturday, October 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

I'm not actually applying to Hofstra. I just have it up there b/c I was going to try to keep up with the fee waivers but decided not to. I've thought about Brooklyn but am feeling too lazy to get another Dean's Cert lol.

Thanks
Sunday, September 28 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thank you for the tip! I will have to give Brooklyn a look. Wishing you all the best this cycle!

Quick Question
Sunday, September 28 2008 at 08:00 PM

I just saw your post about Dean's Certification on another page--Since we're applying to a few of the same schools, do you know if the Dean's Certification is required before your application is complete? Or does it not need to be submitted until you matriculate? Thanks in advance :)

Dean's Cert
Saturday, October 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

Lol don't I have to give it to the dean and get them to fill it out first? Or does Brooklyn send out for it? B/c it's really a hassle getting those things done at my school!

Dean's Cert
Saturday, October 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

Wait, I just reread your message. They don't require a dean's cert??

Sunday, September 28 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the info :) My university is a huge public school, which I have been out of for a year and am no longer in the state, so this may be slightly difficult. It would be a shame to have the Dean's Cert be the one thing holding up my entire application.

NYCTF
Saturday, October 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

I just recieved an email that I've made it to the interview round for New York City Teaching Fellows Program. I'm not sure if you're familar with it (Hey you're in NYC, you might be), but it's like Teach for America but in New York. So, I may do that instead of going to law school right away. I also applied to Teach For America and will find out Thurs if I advance to the interview process. So much on the plate!

Sunday, September 28 2008 at 08:00 PM

Wow, I hope I don't have to go through the same process (I'll keep my fingers crossed!). I will definitely let you know if I have any other questions and please do the same :)

NYCTF
Saturday, October 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

Yeah, but the fellows program is a 2-3 yr commitment. I still think it would be nice to take a break after school and get some money coming in for a little while. I'm scared I might not go back to school though!

NYC
Saturday, October 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

So, my brother and I are watching "My First Place and are thinking about housing prices. With NYCTF they make 45K. Can one live comfortably off of that much in the heart of NYC? We're used to Atlanta prices!!

RE:Interviews
Thursday, November 13 2008 at 07:00 PM

I interviewed with Northwestern already, but I had no idea that Pace did interviews.

New York
Thursday, November 13 2008 at 07:00 PM

Also, what is it like living in NYC? I am originally from the east coast, but not a city as large and cramped as NY. Good luck to you too on your cycle! (Fingers crossed)

Thursday, November 13 2008 at 07:00 PM

No. I haven't even got my applications out yet. I plan on transmitting them sometime next week. I'll probably have to max out my credit card to pay for all these applications.

Thank You
Friday, November 14 2008 at 07:00 PM

I wish you good luck as well in your cycle. I applied ED for NYU, so I guess that would be my first choice, but any of the New York schools I applied to would be great to me.

BK Law
Monday, July 21 2008 at 08:00 PM

great! i lookf fwd to it lol. im wodnering why u havent received any responses yet...a lot of people applying around your time seem to be hearing back pretty quickly so I hope you hear soon! gluck :)

Friday, June 20 2008 at 08:00 PM

I'm not really sure of any schools I could get into that are in my area (Mid-Atlantic.) Good luck to you, hopefully you'll hear back soon.

arizona(the desert)
Thursday, November 13 2008 at 07:00 PM

It's like a never ending summer out here. The high today is 85 degrees. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have no winter, but it gets monotonous after a few years. I can't wait to escape!!!!!!!!!!

Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thank you. Hopefully the success continues. Miami is a good school, with some connections to the sports law market and I think I would go there over some of my California schools. However it's on the lower end of totem pole as far as where I ultimately want to end up. These decisions are addicting and I definitely check my status apps everyday. Good luck to you. I'll be checking in on you.

Sunday, October 26 2008 at 08:00 PM

I would be happy if I was you to be waitlisted at such a highly ranked school. All schools judge their applicants differently so don't let it discourage you. Some things that might not have been big factors for Fordham toward outright admittance but work in your favor at other great schools. Being on the waitlist shows they are interested and they think you would be a good addition. Plenty of people who get accepted there will withdraw and if you really want to go there I would say you have a good shot of getting in eventually. Good luck with the rest of your cycle. I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes.

Thanks
Sunday, September 28 2008 at 08:00 PM

I'm not 100% on which school I would choose yet, but I'm leaning more towards FSU because they have a great government/public interest law emphasis and that's the field I want to go into. And I completely agree with you--the wait is horrendous. Hang in there, we've only got around five more months of this ;)

Waitlisted
Saturday, October 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

I'm waitlisted at UVA. You just have to roll with it. Keep it in your thoughts, send a loci in Jan, and hope for the best. You could see if they offer interviews, and if they do request one. Also, if you did better this semester GPA wise, send an updated transcript to LSAC. Otherwise, stay optomistic about the other ten or so places you applied. You are sure to get accepted somewhere great!

Tuesday, July 22 2008 at 08:00 PM

hey, how did you find out that you were waitlisted at Fordham? email or letter? thanks! p.s: I don't think you should stress it at this point. You still have a lot of schools to hear from =0)

Congrats...
Tuesday, September 02 2008 at 08:00 PM

...on your first two acceptances! They'll start rolling in now. Yippee!!

Thank You
Saturday, October 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thank you!! I'm super excited as it's a school I'd actually want to go to. And look at you-Congrats on American!!!!!!

Friday, April 25 2008 at 08:00 PM

Congrats! American would be one of my top three if I can get a scholarship from their office of public interest. How about you?

Friday, November 14 2008 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on your acceptances.I hope they keep coming in. I'm still waiting to hear from American myself. How were you notified?

congrats
Monday, July 21 2008 at 08:00 PM

congrats on ure acceptances! im assuming BK Law still hasnt received that stupid ltr of certification? My UG school hasn't sent it yet either. But I hope to hear back from some other schools soon!

Congrats
Saturday, June 14 2008 at 08:00 PM

on American :-) maybe we'll be there together next year...

Friday, April 25 2008 at 08:00 PM

Still plenty of time for Emory. They don't make decisions until January, just so you know. The facilities there are top-notch. I visited both Emory and American this summer. Was impressed by American's International and Human Rights emphasis, but Emory's campus is amazing. Nice part of Atlanta, too.

Tuesday, July 22 2008 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on the acceptances! Now I am getting nervous =/

Congrats
Thursday, November 13 2008 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on your acceptances, I hope you have more to come!

Tuesday, July 22 2008 at 08:00 PM

aww...thanks! You're so sweet. I can't help but check my Fordham status every chance I get!!arrghh lol

Tuesday, November 18 2008 at 07:00 PM

ya im tryna go big, the most they can say is no. i see were applying to some of the same schools. it feels good to get one on your belt and know that you can go somewhere. i guess my dream would be harvard or stanford, but we shall see. whats your top?

American
Sunday, November 23 2008 at 07:00 PM

congrats to you, too! i don't really know what my top choice is. i'm pretty split amongst Gtown, GW, BU, and BC....I'm happy with American, though. Planning to make a trip there soon as I'm in DC...good luck with the ret of your decisions!

Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

Congratulations on Penn State and American!!!!!

Friday, October 10 2008 at 08:00 PM

How did you hear from American (email, snail mail, etc.)?

Congrats!!!
Tuesday, September 02 2008 at 08:00 PM

Wow...they're rolling in for you now. CONGRATS on Rutgers!!! That's great!!

Tuesday, November 18 2008 at 07:00 PM

thats wats up! im right there wit you. the best school that offers me admission, IM THERE!!!

American
Friday, November 14 2008 at 07:00 PM

I hope I receive anything from them soon. As for uga, it is among my top choices since I would really like to practice in the Atlanta area

Tuesday, July 22 2008 at 08:00 PM

I got in at Rutgers too! Congrats to you !!!

Hey Hey!
Sunday, October 05 2008 at 08:00 PM

You already got accepted into some of my top choices! Congrats, and good luck w the rest of them

WL @Fordham
Thursday, August 07 2008 at 08:00 PM

I see we both got the WL. I'm cool with that. I applied ED so I'm just glad I have somewhat of a decision that isn't a "no"--I'm hopeful.

fordham
Tuesday, October 14 2008 at 08:00 PM

I'm not incredibly dissapointed...my GPA is pretty poor and I sort of expect a lot of rejections. Thank you for the kind words and I wish you the best in your cycle.

LOCI
Thursday, August 07 2008 at 08:00 PM

IDK?? I think I'll wait until futher in this cycle. If I'm in at another school that's a tie with Fordham or one I would rather attend then, no. But if in April I have one acceptance and one WL and the rest are rejections then I'm going to bombard them with whatever I can to get that chaged from a WL to a yes. I'll even take PT.

Rutgers-Decision
Thursday, August 07 2008 at 08:00 PM

How did you chose to have your application reviewed at Rutgers? I know they kind of let you chose if you want more weight placed on your numbers or your achievements.

Congrats!
Sunday, November 04 2007 at 07:00 PM

On your acceptances! I need to complete the NW application, and I'm definitely interested in interviewing with them and Vanderbuilt. As far as being waitlisted, some one commented on CLEO they might give you some advice about being waitlisted. Have you check out www.forpeopleofcolor.org? They have been an amazing resource for me and I'm sure they would have guidance for you in this process! Best of Luck!

rutgers
Thursday, August 07 2008 at 08:00 PM

Yeah, me too. I've been out of school for a while. I've worked tons and have pages of awards, accomplishments, and other factors that look much stronger on paper than my LSAT and GPA. I like that they have that option.

Sunday, November 04 2007 at 07:00 PM

I saw Anthony Solana speak at UC Hastings diversity outreach day a few months back. He mentioned to everyone, if we were waitlisted to contact FPOC for guidance/tips. So it might be worth a try, if Fordham is on the top of your list. :)

Thanks!
Thursday, July 03 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thanks! Buena suerte with your cycle too, I'm sure it will turn out great!

Applications
Thursday, November 13 2008 at 07:00 PM

I got all my applications in except for the few schools that I am looking at in the Boston area. Now, I have to wait until I have some more money to pay those last two or three schools. I see you got waitlisted at Fordham. I bet if you applied to CLEO they'd accept you since they are a member school.

American
Sunday, May 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

CONGRATS on American! It is absolutely exciting. And for sure, a long wait. But we can definitely achieve our goal! YAY for a T20! I wish you all the luck in the world!

Friday, October 10 2008 at 08:00 PM

congrats on rutgers!

Friday, October 10 2008 at 08:00 PM

it's shaping up that way.

Monday, May 28 2007 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the congrats. I'm not sure what school is my first choice, it's gonna depend on scholarships and whatnot.

Congrats
Sunday, September 28 2008 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on all your acceptances!!!

good luck
Friday, October 24 2008 at 08:00 PM

congrats on your acceptances and good luck on your cycle!!!

Thursday, December 04 2008 at 07:00 PM

Thanks! You have a great mix of schools! If I has higher scores I would totally applied to Boston U and Fordham! Good Luck!!! :)

Yay!
Thursday, September 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on your acceptances :-) I took the Dec. LSAT and submitted a few apps... so I am officially waiting for everything to unfold. What's your top choice?

Friday, December 05 2008 at 07:00 PM

Hey yeah I figured there was no reason not to aim high! I'm not really one to settle...but good luck on GWU ED, hopefully we both get in! The money would be great...

BK
Monday, July 21 2008 at 08:00 PM

boo-yah! im finally done with BK! when i saw you were done i bugged my school almost everyday. congrats on your acceptances!

Thanks!
Saturday, January 05 2008 at 07:00 PM

Thanks for the comment. I figure that pleading to Santa couldn't hurt. HA! You are doing well so far! Good luck to you during the crazy cycle.

Deferred
Saturday, October 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

Yeah, it's cool. We'll get through it! Is a deferral and waitlist the same thing?

Deferral
Saturday, October 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

Oh cool, that means we're better off! Thank you for explaining that!

Tuesday, December 16 2008 at 07:00 PM

top choices are really far reaches: Berkeley and Michigan. Good Luck to you too. Congrats on American.

Hey!
Friday, October 24 2008 at 08:00 PM

I have not sent in LOCI yet. For ND I had a ND alum/professor write an extra, mission focused LOR. I am going to write LOCI in the new year. I haven't decided if I will pursue all of the waitlists. I feel like I have a bunch more coming. But I think when I do them I will just reaffrim my committment to the mission of the school, maybe include a written piece of work that was significant to my UG career. Nothing too out of the box. I did return my WL form to Marquette in a Christmas Card, lol.

Gametime
Friday, October 24 2008 at 08:00 PM

This whole process is like one massive, life changing game. Might as well have fun with it!

Sunday, November 30 2008 at 07:00 PM

Nope, no money from TT :-/ disappointing, but that is why I'm thinking of taking my chances and holding out for some of the other schools. Best wishes to you as well!

Wednesday, December 03 2008 at 07:00 PM

I heard from BC because I applied early action. I haven't heard from similar schools that I also applied to.

Sunday, August 17 2008 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on all your acceptances? I see that you didn't apply ED for Pace. When was your interview?

THANKS!!!!!
Sunday, May 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thanks sooooo much for the congrats!!! Haha... I give myself hope. Getting into BC is a dream come true (I'm into a national law school now). I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! Let's go BC and all the rest!! Merry Christmas!!!

Wednesday, December 10 2008 at 07:00 PM

thank you very much. and congrats yourself! finally, someone who knows how painful it is to fill out application.. after application.. after application! :-D good luck to you too

Hello
Sunday, December 14 2008 at 07:00 PM

Good luck to you as well! Congrats on the schools you were accepted to, even being waitlisted at Fordham is impressive! Whats your top choice? I just got back from NYC visiting schools and right now Cardozo is on the top of my list

Saturday, August 09 2008 at 08:00 PM

thanks quite a bit. and congrats on american. i met one of the admissions people at an event a while ago and they almost convinced me to apply right then and there.

Cardozo
Sunday, December 14 2008 at 07:00 PM

Yeah they told me that I would not hear from them until after the new year. I liked Cardozo so much for a bunch of different reasons. They have an amazing career services center, 6 law review journals, moot court, a ton of law clinics that allow students to get real hands on experience (for class credit) helping real people, and then just a ton of different other innovative teaching styles. Not to mention there amazing location in NYC. I really want to move up to NY and I use to live there until high school so it would be nice to move back. Since you live in NY I really recommend you going for a visit to check it out (just call them and they will schedule a tour). I wouldn't mind going to Fordham either but I don't have a good feeling about even getting waitlisted.

Friday, November 28 2008 at 07:00 PM

Thanks :) you too!

Thursday, November 06 2008 at 07:00 PM

Thank you! Congrats on your acceptances as well!

Congrats
Thursday, November 13 2008 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on all of your acceptances! It looks like your cycle is going very well!

The Waiting Game
Thursday, November 13 2008 at 07:00 PM

Hofstra is fine, especially with a near full scholly, but if Loyola Chicago offered similar I would choose it over Hofstra. I'm really hoping for acceptance from Cardozo or Brooklyn though. If I get in there it would take acceptance at Fordham or a T-14 school to get me to go elsewhere.(unlikely though) I'm sick of waiting too, Fordham doesn't even update their stupid status ticker ever, but Northwestern's eight weeks is nearly up. So we'll be hearing from them soon! Hopefully we both can get some good news!

Good luck
Thursday, December 18 2008 at 07:00 PM

Thanks for the best wishes! Wishing you luck too my fellow latina! You and I have both had good starts, so lets hope the acceptances continue to roll in!

Thank you...
Tuesday, September 02 2008 at 08:00 PM

I'm still in total shock and can't believe this is happening. I keep thinking it's a dream and if I wake up, I'm going to be CRUSHED! Lol. Best wishes the rest of your cycle.

Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thank you...Congrats on the New Year's gift from Pace. I understand the frustration with the process. UCLA told me that they won't be making decisions until February 1st. My application has been complete since December 1st. Oh well 4 more months and this process should be over.

Friday, October 10 2008 at 08:00 PM

I see you applied to NU before 12/1. We should be hearing back this week. How did your interview go? Goodluck!

Friday, October 10 2008 at 08:00 PM

That's so weird. You still in undergrad? Hope it all goes well for you. I should hear something this week...crossing fingers!

LOCI
Saturday, October 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

I may or may not write one. I'm pretty much resolved to UGA at this point. If it's your dream you should go for it though!

Friday, October 10 2008 at 08:00 PM

Crossing fingers for you!

Friday, October 10 2008 at 08:00 PM

Still no NU news?

Friday, October 10 2008 at 08:00 PM

I would soooo be on the phone with NU and make them give me the results. That's so annoying. Are you considering Northeastern? I'm not really.

Thanks
Friday, November 14 2008 at 07:00 PM

for the congrats. It looks like we both are having success with our cycles, I just hope it continues.

Friday, October 10 2008 at 08:00 PM

1- Thanks for updating me. 2- Did they tell you over the phone or it finally showed up on the checker? 3- What does "hold" really mean? 4- What have you been doing since graduation? 5- Thanks for the prayers. I should hear today or tomorrow!!!!

Sunday, January 04 2009 at 07:00 PM

Right now I am considering Northeastern over the other schools I have gotten into. My number one is still BU though. If I get in there all bets are off scholarship or not.

Temple
Sunday, January 04 2009 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on Temple! Im going crazy checking all my status checkers especially since my status never seems to change.

Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on the string of acceptances

Friday, October 10 2008 at 08:00 PM

I guess I should hear something from NU tomorrow...which is the end of the 8 week period. Very nervous. I see most of their acceptances were on Fridays... :-(

Haha
Sunday, October 26 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the congrats. I was so happy to hear from them early on.

Congrats!
Sunday, December 21 2008 at 07:00 PM

Thanks so much for the positive energy! I can see u are doing well on your own cycle :) Best of luck with the remaining pending apps.

Friday, December 05 2008 at 07:00 PM

yeah, congratulations! have you decided on where you are going yet?

Friday, January 16 2009 at 07:00 PM

yes we have. considering the fact that we have similar numbers, are both latinas, and have already received some similar results, i guess you're cycle will most likely be indicative of what mine will be like :) the best of luck to you and congrats on all those acceptances and scholarships.

Totally agree..
Friday, December 05 2008 at 07:00 PM

yes for sure... I'll def go to American if I don't get into a T25.

You're doing well!!
Thursday, August 07 2008 at 08:00 PM

Quite the list of acceptances. I'm really jealous about Temple. I think Temple and I could've been happy together, lol. But congrats to you!! And a Hold at Northwesten, that in it self is a reason to have a big smile!!! You should be very proud of your cycle. Continued luck!

withdrawing
Saturday, October 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

I'm kind of feeling unhappy and wishing that I would have applied to more schools if I would have had more money to do so. I'm even thinking of throwing out a couple of more apps before the deadline

loci
Saturday, October 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

Blah I wrote a loci to UVA. You inspired me to do it ya know :)

Tuesday, January 13 2009 at 07:00 PM

Hey! Thanks for your comment. It looks like you were waitlisted at Fordham- that is my first choice school!! Are you going to hold out and see if they take you in? Let me knwo when you hear from Cardozo, they are taking forever with my app! Good luck!

hi
Monday, December 29 2008 at 07:00 PM

weird question, did you take the lsat in june at pace?

NU
Friday, October 10 2008 at 08:00 PM

In at NU. Thanks for your prayers! I am so blessed!

Tuesday, December 09 2008 at 07:00 PM

hey good luck to you too and yes its always good to see other hispanics trying to get that law degree! let me know where you end up

Hey
Thursday, August 28 2008 at 08:00 PM

Hey soldiva! Your profile really inspires me, I wish the best luck! I'll be watching the rest of your cycle. De donde eres, btw?

@NU
Thursday, August 07 2008 at 08:00 PM

Did you get a deferred decision at NU or a hold? I got put on hold so I'm just hanging out. I'm with you on the decision from NU not being a flat out rejection. I am just happy to be getting some love from them.

Friday, October 10 2008 at 08:00 PM

There is no other school that can top it. However, money will be an issue...so we shall see...

Temple Owls.
Tuesday, December 16 2008 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on Temple.(and also American) How does it rank among your schools. I have not heard back from American yet and If I do get in I'll look for money. Right now Temple is top and I know the Philadelphia area very well. (Cost of living is far cheaper than DC)

Monday, December 29 2008 at 07:00 PM

well i think you sat in front of me. lol... i just had a hunch, that maybe it was you. Maybe you can remember this: you asked me why i was doing a logic game before the test, and i said to warm up.. i'm not a stalker, just from your attitude on here, I guess i figured it could be you.

cardozo-brooklyn
Wednesday, November 05 2008 at 07:00 PM

Nothing yet..im complete at cardozo and they aren't waiting for anything at brooklyn. I emailed brooklyn to find out if I was complete but never heard back.

Good Luck
Monday, December 29 2008 at 07:00 PM

Thanks, I get that a lot...the detective thing. lol Well good luck to you.

Brooklyn
Thursday, November 13 2008 at 07:00 PM

Thanks. You leaning towards any school in particular these days?

BC
Saturday, August 23 2008 at 08:00 PM

I visited BC when I was home, but other than that I didn't do anything. I hoping for the best, but if look like they deferred a bunch of us. I am non-trad so its not like I can improve my GPA or anything by sending in another semester's grades or something. Good luck with your cycle!

Thanks
Wednesday, September 17 2008 at 08:00 PM

Hey I appreciate the congrats. Im still really excited. Just hoping for some $$ now. Looks like you have some good money at some really good schools. Best of luck w/ Duke, Im waiting on them too.

Thanks
Sunday, August 24 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the congrats! I have to congratulate you on your amazing cycle as well. You really have some top-notch choices! Do you have a favorite yet, or one you may be leaning towards more than the rest?

Monday, September 15 2008 at 08:00 PM

thanks and congrats on your acceptances as well!!! im so jealous you got waitlisted at fordham...its my dream school but i didnt even bother applying there thought i had no chance :( we have similiar numbers and i see you got into rutgers which is one of my top choices... brooklyn or cardozo would be nice but im not expecting anything based on the numbers ive seen on here :( whats your top choice???

Wow
Monday, June 12 2006 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on the accepts...ur def doing ur thing...gl w/Fordham..if u can get in, u gotta go unless Duke or Cornell work out...other than that, get $ from Rutgers & go mamita...

Cool
Monday, June 12 2006 at 08:00 PM

So DC huh, ok def not mad @ that...Ameican's a great school, just figured (outside t14) u'd pick the NYC area school...

thnx
Thursday, September 18 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thank you. You too! whats your top choice??

cool
Thursday, September 18 2008 at 08:00 PM

cool. I see you've applied to brooklyn, where does that stand now?

Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

No I am not really concerned. I hate to wait that long but I have no choice. They do that because they accept more people than they have room for and they won't know what their class size is like until people start sending in seat deposits. Part of the seat deposit should be refundable, at least for some schools. Have you heard back from Cardozo? I'm debating as to whether I should put myself on that waiting list.

Re: Congrats
Wednesday, January 28 2009 at 07:00 PM

Thank you. I'm pretty excited about at American. Looks like you have some great choices. Congrats!

BLS
Thursday, September 18 2008 at 08:00 PM

Srry to hear about BLS. But while brooklyn is the subject, im loving: Guess i wont be going going back back to CAli, Cali.. (i mean, the comment--not the rejection!)

Thanks, Congrats on ur Cycle
Tuesday, September 02 2008 at 08:00 PM

Hey, congrats. Out of the schools I got accepted to, NCCU is probably the 1st choice

NU
Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

Are you going to do a second interview with Northwestern?

Thursday, January 01 2009 at 07:00 PM

Thanks...looks like you're having a great cycle. Good luck and keep me posted.

Duke
Wednesday, December 03 2008 at 07:00 PM

Yes, Im very exited that I got WL at Duke. I still have a chance at getting in, and I'm going to try my best to convince them to admit me for Fall.

Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

Yes, but it has to be an on-campus interview. I scheduled mine for the 13th of March. I hope it goes well. Congrats on the good news from Cardozo and Duke!!!!

Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

Haha.... I wish you were the admissions counselor, then I'd have a pretty good chance. I'll be saying little prayers for the both of us. Good Luck.

Cardozo
Thursday, November 13 2008 at 07:00 PM

Good luck with that. Would you attend Cardozo over American?

Rejected.
Thursday, September 18 2008 at 08:00 PM

so parents just called and congratulated on my first rejection ever. we celebrated over the phone!

CHEER UP
Thursday, November 27 2008 at 07:00 PM

2-16-09 -" Rejection at Brooklyn Law... in dire need of some good news." YOU SHOULD BE VERY HAPPY AND PROUD OF YOURSELF,CONGRATS ON ALL OF YOUR ACCEPTANCES.

Thanks
Sunday, August 24 2008 at 08:00 PM

Actually, you are the one who has been really doing it! Congrats to u!!

ha
Thursday, September 18 2008 at 08:00 PM

Haha LOL. That's true....it's btwn Brooklyn and Miami anyway

Duke Waitlist Bliss
Saturday, February 07 2009 at 07:00 PM

Yeah, I was recently waitlisted at Duke too...ain't it grand!!!

same results...still
Friday, January 16 2009 at 07:00 PM

It looks like we are still getting very similar results! WL at Duke and a request for an interview from Cardozo. It's very, very interesting. Are you going to interview with Cardozo?

Thursday, November 27 2008 at 07:00 PM

thank you! I'm glad that its almost over

Cardozo
Thursday, November 13 2008 at 07:00 PM

Yeah, I'm debating between Cardozo and Brooklyn. I'm going to try and visit both, but I've reached the point where I'm like screw these other schools. I don't have the money to pay a million deposits. So if I don't have a decision from anyone else before April 15th, then it's down to Cardozo or Brooklyn.

thankie!!
Tuesday, September 02 2008 at 08:00 PM

congrats to you as well :) whats your top choice now?

on Brooklyn..
Friday, December 05 2008 at 07:00 PM

hahaha, i know! it completely caught me off guard. it's a good thing i got into the other schools because i thought i would at least get into Brooklyn. no biggie, though... congrats to you too! yayyyy we're going to law school!

Sunday, May 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

Haha... I've already withdrawn my app from BC. I hope you do get my spot. What are you leaning toward thus far? American? And thanks for the congrats... still can't believe I'm going to be a Berkeley Law grad!! All the best!

Sunday, May 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

Haha... Let me know if they want me to verify that in which I'll just have to give them a call! haha.. Yah sunny California is going to be incredible; I'm so excited! Thanks again and best of luck!

Curious...haha
Sunday, May 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

Where do you think you'll end up!?

Sunday, May 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

For sure! Looks like there are some great schools you are still waiting to hear back from but American is a really good school (a little bias b/c it's my alma mater!..hehe). Anyway, can't wait to see where you end up! =) All the best!

Cornell
Saturday, October 04 2008 at 08:00 PM

When I called to check on the status of my app at Cornell, they had never received my notification to remaim in the admissions cycle! But, they were very polite about it and let me send in another email. I'm thinking I'm never gonna hear back now!

Yay URM
Thursday, October 30 2008 at 08:00 PM

Ditto, buddy. Go, fellow URM! Hey, congrats on American! It's an accomplishment to be proud of.

LOCI
Sunday, October 26 2008 at 08:00 PM

I'm not planning on writing a LOCI but I would be glad to review yours if you need someone to. At this point, I'm excited about American even though I got in to UMD in-state because of prospective placement in DC after I graduate. Getting in to Wash & Lee would just be a plus but it's a big reach for me. What about you? What are your plans as of right now?

american
Wednesday, January 14 2009 at 07:00 PM

i know! is it your top choice?

Howard
Tuesday, December 16 2008 at 07:00 PM

Hey, Please take a look at Howard Univ Law's Employment Statistics.(median starting Salary is $135,000!!!!) I read it on US News Best Grad Schools 2009, and scratched my head? I checked here and I saw (551 firms for their OCI) Have you heard anything about this?? That figure is equally as great as a T14.--yet the schools is 3rd tier?

Sunday, January 18 2009 at 07:00 PM

Good luck on your remaining schools! Looks like you've already gotten into some great ones. I think you're set!

Wednesday, January 14 2009 at 07:00 PM

i'm in the same boat as you! keeping my fingers crossed for the reaches!

Congrats
Tuesday, February 24 2009 at 07:00 PM

Wow!! Great job on your cycle so far!! I am dying to hear from Pace. Also wish I would have applied to American, blah. Thanks for the kind words.

Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

My interview at Northwestern was interesting. It was a little shorter than I expected, but I think she liked my interest in the law, but I was definitely a little flustered, so I hope it doesn't hurt me too much. Good Luck at Cardozo!!!!

LOCI
Monday, December 29 2008 at 07:00 PM

Hey, If you're still working on your LOCI you should check out this site. The first post gives a sample LOCI and some useful tips. http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=27169&hilit=loci Hope that helps.

Monday, February 16 2009 at 07:00 PM

Can you give any details on the Cardozo interview? It's my top choice at this point. Fellow Purchase Alum

Thursday, December 18 2008 at 07:00 PM

Thanks, and congrats on your acceptances too! Unfortunately, I'm Chinese-American and therefore not considered a URM, lol. BC or UIUC are my top choices, but I have yet to hear from BC and UIUC is a waitlist. I'm jealous of your Northeastern scholly! I'd love to go there. I think I'm going to end up either at Cincy or Pitt, though. What about you?

Cost
Thursday, July 03 2008 at 08:00 PM

First, congrats on the Duke WL...you must be excited! Rutgers is about $19k/yr, including books and transportation costs. Temple is $24k/yr. I'm still waiting on the official letter from Temple, but I doubt I'll get any $$.

Cheers
Monday, January 05 2009 at 07:00 PM

Thanks for the congrats! I see you have had a wonderful cycle! Any ideas on where you will be attending? Pace gave you a nice scholarship...is that spread out throughout the three years? I am a bit upset I did not receive a diversity scholarship...but hey....at least I got in!!! Best of luck in the fall!!!

Cardozo
Tuesday, March 17 2009 at 08:00 PM

Glad to hear your interview went well. Congrats on all your acceptances - our scores seem fairly close, but so far this isn't looking good for me. Do you remember who you interviewed with at Cardozo? I think my impression of the school was similar to yours - it's a fabulous place. Are you applying for spring entrance or fall? Best of luck. You're well on your way!

Haha
Thursday, July 03 2008 at 08:00 PM

You are hella funny! I thought I would receive the letter from Temple today, but that was not to be - maybe tomorrow. I will take your advice and call them, if I can muster the strength...

Cardozo
Tuesday, February 03 2009 at 07:00 PM

I was considering Cardozo until I got into a certain school there's no way I can turn down. I have a good image of 'Dozo. If you plan to stay in NYC especially, it should give you a lot of good job options. I read a lot of good things about their public interest program. Good luck!

American
Wednesday, May 07 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the well wishes, I'm really hoping they come through for me...congrats on all of your acceptances thus far!

Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on Cardozo!!!!!!!

Friday, June 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

So what school are you leaning towards now?

Congrats on Cardozo
Thursday, November 13 2008 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on Cardozo! Looks like I'll be attending Cardozo next year, I'm just waiting for Yale to confirm my rejection.

Re: Moving
Thursday, November 13 2008 at 07:00 PM

I'll be moving in either late July or early August, whenever I feel like I have saved enough money for the move. Any suggestions on finding apartments?

Thank You!
Friday, January 16 2009 at 07:00 PM

I got really lucky with that :) It looks like you're cycle is winding down, too. What's your top choice right now?

Tuesday, November 18 2008 at 07:00 PM

Thanks! Looks like you are having a great cycle! What is your top choice?

Duke
Wednesday, October 15 2008 at 08:00 PM

Hey, I was notified about three or four weeks ago maybe? I withdrew my application though... good luck with the rest of your cycle!

Tuesday, November 18 2008 at 07:00 PM

Well, I live in DC and if you have any questions about the area, please feel free to contact me.

Re: Moving
Thursday, November 13 2008 at 07:00 PM

I've only been looking at Brooklyn. Since I don't plan on moving until late summer, what time do you think would be an ideal time to try and close on an apartment. (I hear apartments go very fast in NYC)

Re: Housing at Cardozo
Thursday, November 13 2008 at 07:00 PM

I can't do the Alabama because I don't beliieve they offer family housing and I'm married, also my wife is going to Columbia dental next year so if we were to do school housing then we'd do it there. (Hopefully we can find an apartment though.)

LOL!
Thursday, September 11 2008 at 08:00 PM

Yeah I was getting sick of the waitlists at one point. 6 schools...it was getting ridiculous, lol. BUT I was happy that the majority of them were T14s...made me feel a little better about myself. lol.

American
Wednesday, May 07 2008 at 08:00 PM

I got in! Thanks for all of your well-wishes, American is a great school and is right down the street from my apartment so it was the best thing that could have happened. Good luck with your decision!

Thanks, Fordham's looking good. Hang in there, these Admissions folks are unpredictable. I had a lot of work experience and stuff and stressed it in the interview. But I don't think the interviewer was feeling me.

You, my friend, are doing quite well for yourself. Good Schools + Scholarships= Great Lawyer & Less Debt, which I hope to eventually accomplish.

Congratulations!

I loved the article. You're right, scholarships are particularly nice now. It looks like you have some solid schools to choose from. Buena suerte, and I wish you continued success!

You know, in looking at the other statistics of people who got accepted to different schools, I was just thinking the same thing. Howard's about the only safety.. but we shall see.. Congrats on all your acceptances though, have you decided where you're going?

Yes it's been great. All in all I am happy with Loyola and the opportunities that it will bring forth in terms of my future career. Regardless I think American is a great school. D.C. seems to be the proverbial launching pad for int'l human rights.

Thanks!
