-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've seen this on other profiles and decided to join the LSP v. Actuality trend. Obviously the fact that my UGPA is a decade old, have pretty decent work experience, and am a non-traditional applicant worked in my favor this cycle, which is something that LSP does not take into consideration when generating admissions probability.

Additional info & updates

Had to re-create orginial govtcheese account because it would not let me log in anymore. All stats, etc, are the same.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For statistical purposes and to ensure full disclosure I'll continue to update the few remaining decisions I have out there as the come in:

03/30/10 - A sad but expected day .... finally rejected from Minnesota (my #1) today via email, which completes my cycle. Overall, I'm really pleased with my cycle and couldn't be happier attending UST this fall!

03/30/10 - Rejected at Mercer via snail mail (small white envelope).

03/22/10 - Rejected at Richmond via snail mail (small white envelope)....hands down the classiest/nicest rejection letter I've received, for what it is worth.

03/19/10 - Rejected at William & Mary via email, which was inevitable.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

03/18/10 - Cycle over....tuition deposit sent out to St. Thomas. I've really been impressed with them so far and look forward to attending.

03/18/10 - I'm going to withdraw from William Mitchell and Hamline today.

03/18/10 - Accepted at Hamline. My home state (MN) has been very gracious to me.

03/17/10 - Accepted at JMLS. Declining.

My cycle is winding down and pending anything drastic (ie - acceptance to either UofM or W&M) my tuition deposit to UST will be sent out by the end of the week.

03/15/10 - Accepted at Campbell today despite having withdrawn (which was acknowledged via email) on 2/22/10. Wierd.

03/03/10 - Waitlisted at Catholic via snail mail (small white envelope). Don't plan to take the waitlist and will withdraw.

03/02/10 - Accepted at Widener despite having withdrawn.

03/01/10 - I guess my withdrawal letter to Capital didn't make it to them before my decision was mailed out as I was accepted to Capital via snail mail (large envelope) today.

02/25/10 - Withdrew from Valpo. I've limited my decision to either William Mitchell or University of St. Thomas (MN).

02/24/10 - Dinged at Marquette via snail mail (small white envelope).

02/22/10 - Withdrawing from Widener, U of Baltimore, U of Dayton, Capital and Campbell.

02/22/10 - Rejected at University of North Dakota via snail mail (small white envelope).

02/20/10 - DInged at Drake via snail mail (small white envelope). Indifferent.

02/19/10 - Accepted at both William Mitchell and University of St. Thomas (MN)! (both via large white envelopes) Those are two of my top schools so I couldn't be happier! Deciding between those two will be extrodinarily difficult. Anyone have any input/advice on those two?
UPDATE: I'm headed to either WM or UST, so I will be officially withdrawing from the majority of my remaining schools next week.

02/13/10 - Accepted at Phoenix Law. Withdrawing.

02/09/10 - Rejected at Washburn via snail mail (small white envelope).

02/04/10 - Waitlisted at New England Law - Boston via snail mail (small envelope). While Boston is a wicked great city, the amount of debt that I would have to incur at NESL (note: they do not particiapte in the Yellow Ribbon Program) is something that I'm still not sure I'm comfortable with.
UPDATE: I've decided not to be placed on NESL's waitlist. The decision was mostly financially based in addition to the fact that I'd rather attend Valpo.

02/03/10 - Waitlisted at Creighton via snail mail (small white envelope). Accepted waitlist. While excited that I was not outright rejected, I'm a little bummed because Creighton is high on my list.

01/22/10 - Accepted at Valparaiso! (large white envelope) Pretty excited about that one as it was in my top five (places grads regionally in the midwest which is what I'm after; good alumni base in IN/IL/WI) , and close to Chicago. Nice to know that I wouldn't be settling if I attend. Looking forward to going out there an visiting the campus.
UPDATE: Talked to the Financial Aid office and when it's all said and done, with VA Educational Benefits and the Yellow Ribbon Program, I could come out with less than $30K in student loans ... that's huge.

01/21/10 - Rejected at Loyola Chicago via snail mail (small envelope). No surprise there. Very nice note written inside thanking me for military service, which I thought was a class act.

01/21/10 - Rejected at University of Tulsa via snail mail (small white envelope). No tears here as I have little desire to relocate to and/or practice in OK.

01/19/10 - Accepted at Cooley via snail mail. $12K/yr scholorship. Cooley is my last resort and to be honest would likely not go there if it's my only option. Still considering the June LSAT and the '10-'11 cycle.

Would you mind posting your lsat score and gpa? Congrats on your acceptances so far!

WM or UST?
Wednesday, February 10 2010 at 07:00 PM

Hello! Can I ask what helped you to choose between WM and UST? I'm stuck in the same boat. Although I was waitlisted at WM, I spoke to someone that said getting off the waitlist in May is a good possibility. So I'm between the two. At first, WM was my top choice, but now since being accepted to UST I am stuck because I am really starting to like it there. Any advice? Thanks!

Hey, Congrats on your admissions success. How long did it take you to hear from Capital after your application was submitted? I have a similar background with similar scores. At this point I am on pins and needles waiting to hear from Capital.
