Additional info & updates

--decisions--

nyu: snail mail acceptance with no advanced warning.

george washington: email from dean richard, followed by a packet about a
week

ucla: phone call from dean schwarz, followed by a packet in the mail

columbia: email with a scanned copy of my decision letter, followed by a hardcopy a week or so later.

georgetown: status checker changed to decision on march 15th; waitlist letter arrived the next monday. accepted off the waitlist by letter on april 5. i happened to be in d.c. the week after i was placed on the waitlist, and i stopped by gulc. the admissions person i spoke with put a notation in my file indicating i visited. i think this contributed to getting off the waitlist quickly.

berkeley: received an email on march 2 indicating that my file "passed initial review" and was under consideration by the committee. the email indicated a decision would be released on march 26. after hearing nothing on the 26th, i called on march 27th to confirm that i was rejected.

michigan: waitlist email from dean zearfoss on march 28. for a split second i almost thought it was an admit email; it began, "we are very glad to have received an application from you to the university of michigan law school...and we found your qualifications extremely impressive." but then, of course, it goes on to say: not impressive enough. not sure whether i'll remain on the list. (i did write the why michigan essay, by the way.)

harvard: wl via snailmail. staying on

yale: wl six days after receiving the email that said i'll either be wl'ed or accepted. staying on.

chicago: call from dean perry on 5/3.

Just wanted to say congrats on your acceptance so far and good luck with the rest of your cycle, not that you need it.

It looks like all of us who went complete on 3/8 haven't heard anything from Harvard, good or bad. If you look at the batch of 3/8 completes from last year... it's pretty disheartening. :( What do you think took so long for us to go complete? There seems to be many applicants who applied at the same time/after us and went complete weeks before us.
