FINAL FINAL UPDATE ON THIS PROFILE.. EMORY

I was accepted with a half scholarship off the waitlist last cycle the week before orientation.. the hardest decision in my life that I still struggle with today. For those of you hoping for Emory with a low LSAT... you have a chance..even to get a ridiculous scholarship. It came down to me making a decision for a safer choice given the economy...but I still kick myself thinking I should have taken it. I'm happy at UF though.

FINAL UPDATE AND IMPRESSIONS OF SCHOOLS:
Notre Dame and UIUC: Not really surprised as they were reaches so no issues there.
George Mason and Temple: Waitlisted at both despite getting into higher ranked schools. Temple, in particular, I was mad about and have no idea how their admissions process works.

Temple took forever and obviously thinks they are a better school than they are. Withdrew from both since I had no desire to attend either.

Emory: I plan on waiting out the waitlist. Not sure if I'd be able to take on the loans necessary at Emory but it's worth a shot.

Marquette: A school that will not go up in the rankings soon until they change their scholarship procedures. For a TTT school, they awarded me the same amount essentially as Wake and even with the scholarship would have been the most expensive school I got into.

ASU: Would have loved to check it out but their decision timeline took too long and I wasn't offered any aid so I couldn't justify taking the risk and paying full tuition.

South Carolina: I got a nice scholarship but I've heard too many bad things about the direction of the law school. Seems like a mess.

Penn State: I wanted to like PSU but was completely turned off by the open house. There was just too much that I genuinely didn't like and the students didn't seem too happy so I crossed them off.

Pitt: As an out of state student, Pitt wasn't affordable either and their scholarship offer was low. I didn't have any desire to go back to western PA so I withdrew.

FSU: I only applied after being put in the "no decision reached" category at UF for a week at the beginning of the process. UF is the more recognized school in FL so since I got in there, I really didn't consider FSU.

MSU: Great school, great administration, and amazing people. I loved it there and had a hard time passing up a full scholarship. I did, however, have a strong preference for the southeast and was a little worried about being able to go back to Florida if I went to law school in Michigan.

Wake: Loved the school, hated the city. Wake was going to be 7k more a year than UF and I just couldn't find justification for spending the extra money if I wanted to end up in Florida.

UF: Visited and loved the school. Dean Adorno was great as well and it just felt right. Excited to be in Gainesville in the fall!

2/9 - Temple held my application for 3 months then decided to waitlist me? really? lol.. what a waste of 12 dollars.. withdrawing
1/29 - very underwhelming scholarship offer from Pitt..8,000 per year.
1/26 - accepted at ASU early action
1/25 - 15,000/yr scholarship at Wake via e-mail and acceptance at Pitt via status checker.
1/24 - rejected from ND via mail.. not surprised but a little dissapointed.
1/15 - 75,000 scholarship from PSU in the mail today with acceptance letter. 25/yr provided I stay in top half of class.

1/6 - Really didn't want to apply to another school but Emory randomly sent a fee waiver.. it's worth it.

12/18 - Withdrew from GMU.. I thought about sticking it out but realized that I had other better options and even if accepted it would have been too expensive.

12/16- Accepted at PSU via email.
12/11 - Waitlisted at George Mason via snail mail. Dated 12/6
12/10 - Rejection e-mail from Illinois. Not one of my top 5 schools so I'm okay.
12/10 - Accepted at Wake via e-mail
12/9 - Finally complete at UNC.. looking forward to some decisions in the next couple weeks.

11/29 - Got a voicemail from MSU that said I was admitted with a full tuition scholarship!! So excited, I'm pretty sure I'm going to visit.

11/26 - Acceptance from Florida in a large envelope in the mail.

11/22 - Acceptance letter from Marquette with a personal note from the Dean came in the mail today.

11/18 - Accepted at South Carolina via snail mail. Decision made on 11/16. First acceptance feels really good!

Did you check online prior to receiving the letter from UF?? If so, what did it say?? Thanks.

That does help, thanks. My status checker says "decision pending", and I wasn't sure if I should expect it to change. Congrats again!
