In my waitlist rejection letter they talked about going to another school then applying as a transfer. I know part - time they look at lower LSAT scores but the downside is that they only accept like 40 - 50 people for part time. You may be more competitive as part-time though with the LSAT.
I just filled out the whole application again. I wrote a new personal statement because I had something new to say, although I do not think it is necessary.
Congrats!! I am excited for both of us. I wish MU had a status checker. I hate bothering the admissions office.
I submitted my app (this cycle) on 09/01/2010 and I still have not gotten an email from them. Last cycle I believe I got the "application complete" email in early October.
I know! I had to email them and ask what was taking so long. Right after that I got a "Complete" email. According to the admissions policy (this is what they said to me in an email) you will receive the "Complete" email from Marquette when they get your Oct LSAT score. Good luck!!
Did you get an email saying your app was complete at Marquette?
Thank you, good luck on your cycle!
I would totally email them and ask when your app will go complete/if there is anything else they need from you in order for it to go complete. They are sending decisions out this month already.
Definitely. Stephanie Nickolay is the director of recruitment and she generally hosts the sessions. She is very nice and very approachable. She is available for questions after the 45 minute session. The building is gorgeous. Have fun!
I sent my app on 10/04/10 and they still only show it as "Application Received 10/12/10" on the status checker. So I haven't even gotten my complete email yet. If I remember correctly, last cycle I got my decision (waitlist) from them in January. I know I check the mailbox every day hoping to see a letter from Marquette. Anytime between now and Dec 14. I will surely post once I receive something! BTW it is really cool that you were raised in the UK. In my job right now all of my clients and coworkers live in the UK. Where did you live in particular? I loved London.
My app went complete, then in review, then decision rendered. Same day decision rendered, went congrats accepted. Best of luck to you.
Thank you!! Wow I am soooo excited. This weekend has been a dream come true. my app went complete on 10/19 and they sent my decision out exactly one month later 11/19. You should hear from them very soon hopefully about a week or two. I am still hoping we will be classmates!!
Thanks.. the wait is horrible. If you didn't hear back from Marquette yet I'm sure you will soon. I love Milwaukee and could definitely see myself there next year
Nope, nothing yet! I hate that they don't have a status checker, although it probably saves me some anxiety. I'm keeping an eye on my mailbox, though.
Probably. I think they'll probably hold on to PT apps until they have a little bit bigger of a pool to draw from? I don't know, wild guess.
Hey there, I was going to advise that it probably means waitlist considering that is what happened to me last year. I see you just updated. Did you get the letter today? :( What are your plans?
I was on the waitlist last year from December until August it sucked. Hopefully they will activate it earlier rather than later. The first seat deposit is due in April, so I am sure they will start picking after they do not receive seat deposits. What do you think about John Marshall? Last cycle they offered me admission to their summer program.
Hey thanks for the kind words, and I am sorry to see you did not get in right away to Kent. One of the options I had looked at was going to a smaller school and trying to transfer. You will have to be in the top 10% of whatever school you go to so their is a risk. You may want to speak with the Dean of kent or Marquette and see what their thoughts are. If anything it emphasizes to them that you are interested and may help your spot on the waitlist. Good Luck!
I did the same thing last cycle. It may also help to advise you will take any seat that opens up full or part time.
I'm sorry to see you were WLed for Marquette. I still haven't heard back, which is a bummer. Yikes.
I did get in to Marqutte PT. I just found out via email today. In the email they said I should have received my packet already, which I haven't. So weird. 85% chance I'm not going. I'll withdraw as soon as scholarship offers come out. I wonder if I can say to them, "I'll withdraw as long as Bellini03 gets my spot"?
Hi there! I don't know how it works but I went ahead and did the online form to keep my app in consideration. I think it is unlikely I'll get an offer there or by the time I do (April), I'll have already decided. Best of luck to you!
I received my letter from Marquette the very beginning of December. It took a little over a month to hear word. Good luck with your apps!
Hey! Hopefully it is a good sign that Loyola was able to make a decision so quickly. I still show "Application Complete - Thank You". I applied part time evening. Did you apply part time?
I asked her about that scenario exactly. I said that was what I was afraid of. She said that visiting helps and calling or sending a letter once a month helps. But she warned that the earliest any decisions about the waitlist are made is usually around the first seat deposit in April and May. She then confirmed that decisions can be continued to be made right up to the first day of orientation. She sad that the closer it gets to orientation, the more the law school phones people on the waitlist to correctly gauge their interest in attending. If it is high, then you have a better chance of being accepted once a spot opens up. Very frustrating. Sorry to hear that this is your second go around on the waitlist. Best of luck!
Just keep in contact with admissions. I actually talked to admissions for a while after being waitlisted, I received my acceptance the next day. I'd have a LOCI on tap for the upcoming weeks. Good luck!
Hey, I was notified by a kind of odd email from the dean saying how they were notified that I got in...I then checked my status checker and saw it changed, received a call from a current 2L and then finally received my acceptance letter in the mail. As for additional info, all I did was fill out the survey that was on my status checker after I had been deferred. Good luck!
Nothing new on the waitlist at Marquette. I wrote a loci and someone also wrote a letter on my behalf. We will see where it gets me, fingers still crossed!
Hey, no problem! Here's hoping you get my spot at Marquette!
I took my name off the waitlist for Marquette so didn't get the email, but good luck in getting in on your cycle!
I paid my deposit at Kent and am so excited to start. I'm trying to do the early start pt and take a class this summer. Hope you get in! Good luck!
Thanks! I hope that you hear something really soon. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Hey I just wanted to let you know that I just received a letter in the mail to send in my second seat deposit by June 1. So if anything they will probably pull off of the waitlist after that date when people don't pay.
I remember early in your cycle this year you were determined to get into Kent. Congats and good luck!
Hey! I hope we both have better luck this cycle! I sent my application off today. I applied at SLU too so maybe we will be classmates either way. :)
