Additional info & updates

not happy about all these waitlists... :-/
waiting till the summer before deciding if i go to a non-top choice [unless of course, waitlists pull through] or if i wait and apply again earlier in the cycle [and work in a law firm for the year...]

sent: "date transmitted" via lsac
received: when lsac received a report request from the school [or in the case of chicago and harvard, when they emailed me]
complete: when/if notified of complete
-gulc/fordham: didn't check status online until 2/15, so neither is
accurate
decision: date on letter [not date receieved]

so, i was going to put up the chiashu percentages, but i just think they're ridiculous and are evil and create false hopes.

miami- small white envelope, offered full-tuition scholarship which came in small envelope a few weeks later

nyls- small white envelope- accepted as a full-tuition scholar

northwestern- e-mailed about status change

brooklyn- e-mail, materials came in about a week... in true bls style i got about 4 different pieces of mail... all different sizes [official acceptance- small env, new admit kit- huge env, career center book, and invite to reception]

gwu- medium thick envelope. a week later received presidental merit scholarship- $20,000/yr

georgetown- small thin stupid envelope saying i'm on the "preferred waitlist"

bu- received a voicemail this morning telling me i'd been accepted

michigan- emailed about waitlist... pissed off

fordham- after an almost 3 week lull, accepted via email, official materials on their way.

columbia- letter that i've been placed on 'hold'... led to some binge drinking... UPDATE: 4/17- now on the waitlist [or 'reserve']... not the luck i had hoped for

cardozo- via regular mail

NYU- letter letting me know I'm on the waitlist... not getting any love from my top choices...

Chicago- another waitlist letter in the mail...

Thanks. First off, I actually sent all my apps in the day before I found out my lsat score. But I think Brooklyn's a great school, and who knows where I'll actually get in!

wow

We're number twins! And that's not all that common given the slight LSAT/GPA split. I'm surprised you're not complete at Georgetown or Michigan yet since you sent in your apps earlier than I did. Did you have some late recs?

congrats on nw

I wonder when will Michigan get back to us?

Miami $$

Did you get any scholarship money from Miami? I'm trying to gauge whether or not they're still giving it out. With a 175, I imagine you'd get something...congrats on your great numbers!

did brooklyn mention anything to about when they would decide about merit scholarships? thanks!

Sorry to hear about your Georgetown waitlist. I'm wondering if it's a yield protection denial almost everyone with similar numbers were accepted.

Congrats on BU

Now you have more acceptances than I do! Are you going to admitted students weekends? Maybe I'll see you at Northwestern.

we're (sorta) numbers twins

I know we met...

I'm so proud of it! Good luck w/ the rest of your apps, we may have went over this last night (I, of course, wouldn't remember) but if you don't make it into one of the T14 it MAY be in your best interest to wait a year and apply earlier in the cycle. More importantly, though, I have a HUUUUUGE crush on you, lol!

Ugh!!!

Sorry about all the waitlists... it's really frustrating considering you have such amazing numbers. However, NW is awesome so congrats on that but if you decide to reapply next year I hope you knock them dead. P.S. - do you still hang out in Hoboken?

Top choices

What are the schools that you would go to this year if you're accepted or get off the waitlist? I visited NW and think that it is an excellent school. I only had minor complaints about it that put UVa ahead of it.

Chicago

Congrats on UChi! How did you hear? So, Chicago likes you better, Georgetown likes me better, and Harvard likes me better, but only slightly. I think Chicago is a great school. With even money, I would have probably picked Chicago over Virginia.

Chicago

I'm definitely heavily leaning toward Chicago. Need a roomie at Regents?
