I just want to reiterate that you should retake the LSAT. You have a most impressive list of ECs. You should put them to work and give yourself the best chance you can. Spend the next year doing nothing but practicing LSATs. Best of luck to you.
Thanks everyone for the encouraging words!! I am still waiting from Hofstra they sent me a card that said it will be another six weeks. If I don't getin I plan to get a legal sec job or an intern paralegal. maybe a law libraian...
Yeah, schools don't give a crap about anything else but the LSAT. You have a very impressive record and it's a shame that you didn't get a better LSAT score. Mine is low, too. So I understand your frustration. I'm by far more frustrated than you, I'm sure. Besides, some of us, and perhaps yourself included, just aren't good at standardized test. That doesn't mean we can't succeed in school. I refuse to let these idiots (some other lsn.com members, or even non-members posting BS comments) try to tell me that I can't succeed in law school just because I have a low LSAT. I don't care how much one studies for the LSAT, that doesn't guarantee success on it. As someone else said, I know you'll make a successful attorney. And so will I. Regardless of what those others think. You sound like a wonderful person. Follow the dream. If no school accepts you this year, do attempt to re-take the LSAT. I tried it twice and I still couldn't manage a decent score. But so what. It's the schools who are missing out. Don't let them or anyone else try to make you think you're any less of a person just because of your low LSAT score. You'll get in somewhere, even if it's next year, and you will make an excellent attorney! Best of luck to you!
I think it is crazy that people who have never stepped inside of a courtroom, seen a jail, worked with other aspects of the criminal justice community want to go to law school. It is one thing to get the degree, another to practice it.
