My top realistic choice is Campbell. I've visited the school several times (it is the only school that I have visited) and really like its small, quiet atmosphere. I think it will most conducive to my legal studies. UNC is the other top contender, but it is an unlikely option for me considering my numbers. USC was a school that I was seriously considering, but now that Campbell admitted me, I don't believe I will consider it any further. Campbell has an astounding bar passage rate for NC and all other states, and it has an excellent reputation here, so I think the choice is a no-brainer for me! Hope that helps.

Good Luck

Hey good luck to you this cycle. I see we applied to several of the same schools. It will be interesting ot see when we hear back, as we both applied later in the cycle. I've visited both Campbell and Elon and been very impressed. If admitted, I would have not second thoughts as to attending. I'd be interested to know when you hear from Campbell regarding an interview. Again, best wishes.

Interview

Mine lasted 3-4 hours. You'll be assigned to a professor who will conduct the interview. Be ready to explain why you want to go to law school and any mishaps identified on your application (i.e., grades, conduct, etc.). We also talked about a lot of random stuff, I guess so the prof could get a generally sense of what I was like. All in all, it's a good experience because you get to learn more about the school yourself. Just dress nice and try to relax. Good luck! I'll be there in August!!

Hey congrats on Elon! I'm really leaning towards Campbell and Elon myself. I expect I will at least be interviewed. I'm interested to see how yours will go. Please do let me know and sincerely the best of luck to you! How did Elon let you know of your acceptance? Any details would be great. Good luck at Campbell.

It took about a week and a half after the interview. It was really quick and surprising because my last letter of rec. hadn't even made it there yet.

Campbell vs Elon
Sunday, May 20 2007 at 08:00 PM

I have had the opportunity to visit both. Both are solid schools that should have a lot to offer. Campbell has been around a lot longer and has an excellent reputation for producing good lawyers (esp within NC). As you probably know, their bar passage is usually tops in the state year after year. I've spoken with current student and alum who have all talked about how challenging 1L is. I've seen stats that say nearly 20% do not return for 2L (academics). Personally Campbell would be ahead of Elon simply b/c is established and has a solid rep already. Good luck with the interview. Let me know how things go.

Well I e-mailed Cambell on Monday regarding my status. Very brief response saying a decision has been made and I would know within a week. Really hopeful to see an e-mail first requesting an interview. How far off did you set your interview for?

Hey good luck next week at Campbell. I actually received an e-mail from the Dean at Elon last week saying my file was incomplete. A bit of a glitch in the website submission with attachments. I've taken care of it - hopefully the timing will not be an issue. I'd be interested in your thoughts on the schools at the end of the week. Again, good luck.

At this point I'm leaning towards Elon. If I'd been accepted to Campbell outright, I would likely go there. I've visited both schools and like them both as well. I plan to speak with admissions at both schools in the next couple weeks. What was your overall impression of G'boro? Congrats on the $$ - hoping for some as well.

Just curious - did Elon give you an extention regarding your decision? Did they appear anxious for a decision when you visited? They gave me until this Wednesday. I'm planning on visiting Tuesday and speaking with admissions regarding a few things. Thanks.

No, I haven't heard ANYTHING from them. I emailed about 2 weeks ago to check my status and they said my file was currently under review...but that was 2 wks ago & I thought for sure I'd hear someting by now... So your interview went well?

Elon

Visited Elon today and really liked it. I'll likely be heading there in the fall. Not too interested in PBAP at Campbell. Good luck with the rest of your cycle. Hope its good news at Campbell. You've got a solid LSAT and a great undergrad program...they'd be crazy not to. Best wishes.

got an email saying i'm waitlisted at campbell. SO ANNOYED. I can't sit around til July waiting for a decision so I'll probably go to Florida Coastal. I really wanted to go to Campbell though so I'm not happy.

Hey - I have not heard anything specifically regarding an accepted students day yet. You probably got the e-mail Wed. about rec for accred and admissions open house next friday...? I'll probably head to it for a final visit before absolutely deciding (about 95% now). I'd like to see if additional $$ is available before giving the final nod though. Good luck hearing from Campbell. They are officially off my list. NCCU sure is taking their sweet time on letting us know... Are you from NC originally? I see you've applied to several NC schools.
