yeah, it took a long time to put together all the apps (not to mention a lot of money) but I wanted to leave my options open (plus I went from definitely wanting to stay in CA to wanting to try someplace new). Most of my top chioces will probably reject me though, I'm not sure what I'm going to do, stay in CA for the regional boost for jobs or go to a higher ranked school out of state and hope I can get a job in CA afterwards.

congrats on Hastings ED!
I didn't apply to UCLA for a couple reasons, but none of the issues had to do with the school itself. My wife and I are applying right now so we are looking for schools that offer programs for both our individual interests. Heck, if our situation was a little different we probably would applied to UCLA; it's a great school.
