Why did all my info get deleted?! (3-14) Oh well, guess I'll type it in again, someone could find it helpful.

05-26-07: still waiting to hear back from Chicago-Kent and American as to my waitlist status. Loyola sent me a letter last week saying I am still on the waitlist and they will contact me in June or July with a final admission decision. Still holding out for American, but might have to pay the second part of my deposit at Temple to be sure I'll be going somewhere next year. Can't figure out if not hearing back from American yet is a good sign or a bad one... anyone know anything about their waitlist process??

04-23-07: Busy moving, hard to keep up with this stuff! Rejected at Illinois. Haven't heard back from Kent yet... Scholarship to Hofstra, but I am leaning towards Temple. Put a seat deposit down, but am wishing and hoping to get in to American off the waitlist. Sent them an email updating my address and telling them I hoped to see them in the fall. The squeaky wheel is the one that gets noticed! Then again, a scholarship to Loyola (also waitlisted) or Kent could make me rethink Chicago...

04-02-07: Email from Catholic today saying I am the recipient of a $12,000 scholarship renewable yearly as long as I remain in the top 25% of the class. Catholic is now about the same price as Temple... tough decision in front of me. Any suggestions? I really like the DC area, but I hear that Temple is a better school. Thoughts?

03-27-07: Accepted at St. Thomas in Minneapolis with $10,000/year Deans Scholarship. Funny, I was going to withdraw my application this afternoon....

I have also sent my statement of intent to both William Mitchell and Hamline informing them that I do not plan to attend their schools.

Checked financial aid information at Catholic today... NOTHING. They aren't giving me a single penny. I definitely had my FAFSA in before the deadline. Is this usual? Sent an email to Temple today to find out my preliminary aid amount, hoping it's more than Catholic!!

03-24-07: Acceptance package from Catholic in large envelope. Also acceptance package from Penn State-Dickinson for their Carlisle campus. Don't really know much about the school, so I have to do some research.

03-23-07: Rejection letter from Minnesota in regular business envelope. Pretty bummed, but I knew that Minnesota was a stretch in the first place.

03-21-07: Acceptance from Catholic by email. Yay! My first acceptance in DC, an area I'm very interested in. Waiting for financial aid info and acceptance info in the mail.

03-20-07: Acceptance from Temple. Big envelope with folder inside and all their acceptance information. Excited to get something outside my state, yay!

03-19-07: A lot came in the mail today. Rejection from George Mason in a regular envelope. Not too surprised there, but rejections always hurt. :o( Letter from Hofstra informing me they have a new dean... why? I haven't heard any decision from them, maybe I'm just on a mailing list. Waitlisted at Loyola Chicago, came in a regular envelope with several pages of information. Might wait to see what Kent decides and then drive to Chicago to visit the schools. Loyola says they don't rank their waitlist, but I'd have to still wait until May to hear from them.

03-14-07: Email from Temple telling me I have been accepted. The email said that they normally don't send acceptances by email, but that they wanted to invite me to an admitted students day and thus sent the email to give me more time to respond. Told to expect acceptance package in the mail. Excited to finally be accepted somewhere out of state.

03-12-07: Email from the U of MN telling me my application is complete and ready for review. Should hear back in 4 to 6 weeks. I really really want to get in... I know my chances aren't the best, but I'm hoping that since it's my alma mater, I may get some extra credit (was told it doesn't help too much, actually).

03-09-07: Waitlisted at American. Came in regular sized envelope. Anyone know anything about the waitlist process at American? I really want to go to school on the East Coast and around the D.C. area... is it worth it to hold out?

03-07-07: Accepted at Hamline by phone call from the Dean. 80% deans scholarship all three years. Also eligible for another 3 grand a year as part of a fellows program if I write a statement and submit it by March 16th. We'll see...
Also received more information from William Mitchell informing me I was nominated for a fellowship program. It's a brand new program and the flyer didn't give much information. Guess I should email the professor listed on the flyer to find out more. Anyone else interested, just send me a note and I'll tell you what it's about as I learn more.

02-28-07: Accepted at William Mitchell by mail. Large envelope. Notice the turnaround time... I was surprised too!! Excited for the first acceptance, yay! I'll be going to law school in the fall!

Additional Info: Both my parents are lawyers. I don't know if that helps or hurts... ha ha.

Hey, we have similar numbers and were both waitlisted at American. I'm not sure what the actual chances of getting off the waitlist are but in the letter itself they say that a large number have been accepted off the waitlist in past years. Plus everything on LSD points to a large number of acceptances as well since people use American as a backup for other schools such as Georgetown. If that is where you want to go then I think you might have a great chance of getting in. I'm not likely to wait on their list until the summer so you may have more options later on. Good luck to you.

Hey, I was wondering what are your thoughts on Temple University. I would love to go there if accepted, but money might be of some issue. We have very similar numbers, did they offer you any scholarship of sort?

Hey, Yes, I've heard some things about the area Temple is in, the town is supposed to be rough, but I heard that the campus itself is very safe.Oh, and by the way let me know how it goes this weekend at Temple. Any financial aid would also be helpful, since I really dont want to take out too much in loans.

Thanks for the information about Temple. Sorry to hear they only offered you 2k in grants. I received an email from them today saying my application was complete...man that took forever, and now lets hope they get back to me soon, and hopefully offer me some money. Anyways, good luck on rest of your applications.

Hey, Thanks for the congrats on George Mason. I'm really excited about this acceptance. I only applied to the school because they offered me a fee waiver, and after looking at their stats, I was expecting a rejection, so the phone call from the dean was a really nice surprise. The school seems very nice, and being located so close to DC is a definite plus. The only bad thing is that housing in the area is very expensive, plus on top of 25k a year on tuition, it really adds up fast. Anyways, I sent in my seat deposit today, and will most likely be attending unless some T2 schools throw a lot of money at me, which I seriously doubt. So, I assume your considering between Temple and Catholic at this point? Both are good schools, I think it will just come down to where you would like to practice more, and what field you are most interested in. Anyhow, good luck with rest of your applications, and I hope you will be happy wherever you decide to go to law school.
