Work experience includes United Nations, nonprofit and law firms

18 May - Decided to accept offer from Penn State. The 20k/year scholarship was too good to pass up. Only drawback is I have to wait till Fall '08 to start in order to get the scholarship. But that's when their new Sch of Internat. Affairs opens, so it's worth the wait. Good luck to you all!

7 April - rejection from Oregon. Small white envelope.

6 April - waitlisted at Drexel. It's waitlist week!

2 April - waitlisted at Colorado. Slim envelope via snail mail.

30 March - rejection letter from Tulane. Usual slim envelope.

24 March - acceptance via snail mail from NY Law. Small envelope, thought it was a ding, but pleasantly surprised.

23 March - acceptance from Vermont via email, with hard copy to follow. Love their environmental law program.

20 March - 2 rejections in the mail - DePaul and Berkeley. Both slim window envelopes. Berkeley's was so gracious I nearly forgot they were giving me the boot.

Also 20 March - received Denver's offer via mail, with nice handwritten note added. Large colorful 9x12 envelope.

18 March - in at FL Coastal. Notified by email, which got routed to my spam folder and I didn't see it for a week. Yikes!

15 March - admitted to Denver! notified via email. Woo-hoo! My first (and only?) "yes". Oddly, admitted to the evening program, although I applied to FT, but that's ok. Like them a lot, they have a good joint degree in international studies.

8 March - received strange carbon-type mailing from Nova asking that I set up a Nova email account immediately b/c that's where their correspondence will be sent. ??? Anyone else get this? Even though I haven't gotten a decision from them yet, I went to the website and tried, but it rejected me on the grounds that I'm not a student there. Naturally. Sooo..... emailed their tech suppt, who replied that email addresses are only for their students. Was this an error, or do they send them out for future reference? Very odd. Then again, I've noticed a lot of people on this site getting mysterious out-of-sync mail from law schools, so maybe they're just disorganized.

3 March - first notification is a big fat NO from UKy. Usual #10 thin envelope with 1-pg rather terse letter. Not warm and fuzzy. Oh well.

If there's anyone else in a similar situation, i.e., been out of school for ages and low-ish numbers, I'd love to know if your work/life experience actually made a diff in this process. I've heard it does, but I've yet to see evidence of it. Thanks, and good luck all!
