Hey good luck to you as well! You will get into Syracuse. My top choice is so far Willamette. I don't know if you know since most East Coast people don't know but it's a good school in the Pacific Northwest, where I am deciding to end up living.

We'll see...
Friday, March 02 2007 at 07:00 PM

I'm not so sure about Syracuse but I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I feel like being so late will really hurt me. I hadn't considered Willamette, but I had thought about Gonzaga. I don't know about moving out west though, I'm a southern girl at heart!

Hey!
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

We had similar scores and applied to a few of the same schools. Good luck! What sorority?

The waiting game
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

I know what you mean ... I hate the waiting too. That's ok though b/c this time next year we'll both be in law school! Yeah, we didn't have a KKG chapter at my school. I actually worked for Kappa Sig HQ for a while.

Friday, March 02 2007 at 07:00 PM

The waiting should be over soon, I just want to know where I'll spend the next 3 (or more) years of my life! What is your first pick?

Good luck!
Sunday, December 17 2006 at 07:00 PM

We have similar numbers. Actually I'd sell a pinky toe for your GPA. Anyway, good luck this cycle!

First Choice
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

My first choice is Alabama; my first realistic choice is Cumberland ... I also like Hofstra and Quinnipiac. What about you?

Syracuse
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

Are you going to apply to Syracuse?

Speech & Debate
Wednesday, November 15 2006 at 07:00 PM

Hey Hey! Man do I miss the glory days. I was predominantly in Lincoln Douglas debate when I started, but our coach made me try duo interpretation. I immediately fell head over tar heels in love! The list of accolades I put on my LSN page are for Duo and HI. I wasn't as good at LD after all that because I was always double entered and I cared more about getting to the final round of HI than LD (better crowd). I eventually stopped LD in my Jr. and Sr. years. What were your events? Not Congress, right?

I did "For Whom the Southern Bell Tolls" and "The Actor's Nightmare", if you know those pieces.

Florida Coastal
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

Congratulations! No, I haven't gotten anything yet ... but I expect to get something from them early next week. Thats great news about the scholarship! Do you think that you will take it?

Florida Coastal
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

Have you already been to Jacksonville or do you plan on visiting before making a decision?

NESL
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

I actually was thinking the same thing yesterday. I think that I could probably still drop it in the mail this week and be ok. What do you think?

Florida Coastal
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

I've heard good things too. I might drive down there and take a look ... I'm not too far. I'm holding out for Arkansas too ... or something even better if I get really, really lucky.

First Acceptance
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

Accepted at Florida Coastal with $10K per year! I'm goin' to Law School somewhere!

Apr. 1-3
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

Yeah I am definitely going to go down before making a decision. I think that I might try to make that work actually. If I can get down on the first we should definitely get together and hang-out. I hear that Jacksonville is pretty nice.

NESL
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

I think that you're right ... I'll get my app in the mail tomorrow or wed. and see what happens. I think that they have rolling admission right? I'm also going to send my Syracuse app. It's kind of late, but I think that I can still get in.

!!!
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

That's awesome! Congratulations! Any money? My pre-law advisor got his PhD at UVA and taught at Campbell for a few years. He loved it. He actually started their UG mock trial team there. I dropped an app. to Syracuse in the mail today. I'm going to send one more .... to NESL on Wed. Congrats again!

Boston

NESL
Tuesday, December 26 2006 at 07:00 PM

Hey, The blue card indicating my complete application was postmarked 12-6, then I received a phone call from admissions on the morning of 12-14. I was not expecting a decision that soon so it caught me by surprise! I think that you will get in to NESL soon. Good luck, and let me know what you decide on.

Camp PBAP
Thursday, March 01 2007 at 07:00 PM

I am very confused about Campbell's offers for PBAP and regular acceptances. I have looked at some of their unconditional acceptances and they do not have good LSAT scores. (They told me the reason I had to go PBAP was bc of my LSAT score) I am hoping I get into Central bc I don't really want to have to do this PBAP thing. Too much money. What do you think. I also got waitlisted at Florida so Congrats on your acceptance there.

I tried to Im you earlier ... try again later

valpo
Thursday, January 25 2007 at 07:00 PM

Valpo sent me a letter saying that I would be a perfect fit at their school, however they have accepted too many people, when a seat opens they will contact me immediately if I am still interested...I am on an admissions pending list. It sounds really good but im not sure if it really is.

PBAP
Wednesday, January 17 2007 at 07:00 PM

Campbell is an excellent law school, having a 97% bar passage rate for first time test takes in NC for 2006. As for the program, I've heard that about 25-30% of the 60 participants actually make it through. I'm not sure if this number is high enough for me. However, I want to stay in NC, so I am seriously considering the program if NC Central is a rejection. I can't wait for this whole process to be over. Good luck with the rest of your apps!

WNESL
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

Thanks! I was looking at the NESL website the other day and I decided that I would apply there too. Unfortunately, when I called the admission office advised me that my application would not be accepted at this point. I was a little upset about that actually. That seems like a much better school and location than WNESL. For me, if it came down to WNESL or FCSL, I would definitely pick the beach over piles of snow.

Arkansas
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

Hey, has Arkansas sent you a letter or anything about not being an Arkansas resident, being below index, and being an unlikely candidate for admission? I got one yesterday that seemed to be a letter reccomending that I withdraw.

Did you send in money for the seat deposit or are you going to stick with Coastal? I went ahead and sent in the deposit just in case I have to go through with the program.

FCSL-road trip
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

Unfortunately, I may have to take a short trip back home to Alabama this Sunday. I am going to try to get out of it and drive down too. If I do get to go I will IM you so we can get together down there. If I can't go, take notes!

Vermont
Saturday, February 17 2007 at 07:00 PM

Hi, The title of the email was just "Vermont Law School." Nothing indicating the contents. We applied around the same time, so you should be hearing soon. Congrats on the offers you've already received!

It's what I've been reduced to during the idle time. I had a profile even better than this one earlier on, but people started getting extremely jealous and requested I take it down. So this is kind of my "Junior Varsity" version of my life. Glad I could help.

Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

I got your e-mail and wrote you back. By the way, I got waitlisted at Quinnipiac ... not too surprising.

Congrats!

On Duquesne!!!! I see that you have w/d from Arkansas as well. Nice move. Congratulations again.

Loyola
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

Congrats again! This is definitely going well for you. I'm not sure why it is taking so long to hear from everyone. Cumberland has told me a dozens times that I will hear something "next week." It's pretty much been that way with Alabama as well ... which I of course do not expect that I will get in there, but it would be nice to hear. My two schools that I am really waiting to hear from are Syracuse and Cumberland. If I get in to Hofstra I will consider it. Now that I have been waitlisted at Quinnipiac, I expect to withdraw on Monday, and ... if none of those come through (syr, cumberland, hofstra), I am considering re-taking the LSAT, and matriculating next fall. I really think that I can do better than a 155.

Re: NESL and Boston
Saturday, July 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

NESL is on the bottom tier of schools in Boston. A better bet then Western New England, but you would have to fight for jobs and summer positions with Suffolk, Northeastern and then BC BU and the big H... unless you are literally top 5 students in your class, it will be hard to compete job wise. There is no real campus to speak of but it is in the heart of downtown Boston which is good. I'm really hoping i get into Suffolk or Northeastern because NESL was a safety. Depends on what you want to do really.. i only know about NESL reputation around beantown not the specifics. But i've heard if you want to do a solo practice or work out in the burbs NESL is ok.

re: numbers
Monday, August 07 2006 at 08:00 PM

Well, I have it narrowed down to Michigan State and Washburn. Still waiting on MSU to offer me some kind of financial support, but if that doesn't happen I will end up at the cheaper alternative. Where are you looking at?

Syracuse
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

In at Syracuse! I'm going to take that one!

UNC
Wednesday, January 31 2007 at 07:00 PM

Yes, I visited. I love love love the campus, but it seemed like everyone bused to and from school. I'm a walker.

Good luck!
Thursday, March 01 2007 at 07:00 PM

Love your screen name! High five for rugby too!!! Good luck to you!

No Doubt!
Thursday, March 01 2007 at 07:00 PM

Yeah they are! SU is definitely on the top of my list. Still hoping to get into SLU (I grew up there). What position did you play at UNC? The women's club at my alma mater, Marquette, won nationals a few years back. I played fullback and a little outside center myself.

Waiting ....
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

I know ... the waitlisting is worse for me than just waiting to hear something. It's like, well you've been waiting for two months, now we're going to make you wait for two or three more ... I hate that. I guess for me it's pretty much over anyway. I am 98.9% sure that I will be going to Syracuse. Unless the stars align and Alabama gets stupid, and instead of the trash they accidently throw my app in the "accept" pile. Not likely. I give it a 1.1% chance of happening.

Decisions
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

Well, I think Syracuse is where I will end up. I talked with an attorney in Atlanta that went to school there, and she had a lot of good things to say. I am still waiting to hear from Bama and Georgia State; and I am also going to see what happens with Cumberland .... What about you? Are you heading to NO?

Jazz
Thursday, March 01 2007 at 07:00 PM

I went to undergrad at Marquette and graduated in 2005. I saw that you are heading to New Orleans for Jazz Fest. That is awesome! I heard that it is amazing! I really want to make it there for that. New Orleans in general is awesome. I went there in 2002 when Marquette, a la Dwayne Wade, made it to the Final Four. It was a blast! Just wondering, what ruled out Syracuse for you?

hey
Thursday, June 29 2006 at 08:00 PM

congrats on Loyola it looks like i will be going there as well. What do you think about the school? I went to a Jesuit school for undergrad and they all seem to have good connections.

Plans
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

Made any yet?

FCSL
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

No, I haven't recieved that e-mail. I am pretty sure that I wouldn't go there anyway. I'm not terribly impressed with FCSL at all. I know the campus is supposed to be beautiful, but the job prospects are very minimal. I am waiting to here from Cumberland. If I get in there, that is where I will go. Not really liking the $$$ at Syracuse. What is your plan?

FCSL
Tuesday, October 03 2006 at 08:00 PM

I visited both FCSL and Loyola and i must say I was much, much more impressed by FCSL. Even if the schools cost the same I would still choose FCSL and with money it's no question. Jacksonville is wayy wayy more livable than N.O. after Katrina, if you haven't visited you really should. It is unbelievably expensive to live in a decent area (around $1000 a month for a single, they'll even tell you that) and as much as i love new orleans, it is still in many places destroyed and unsafe (the highest murder rate per capita in the US this year, they won't tell you that) The loyola law building is unimpressive and they are barely clinging to T-3 with LSAT range 150-155 vs Coastal's 149-154 and there median is one point apart (153v152) Also, i would consider trends, loyola n.o. is having a hard time getting students to go there where as Coastal has been steadily improving and I would bet will be t-3 by the time you or I graduate. Also as far as career prospects they are good with about 90% employed w/in 9 months and a decent average starting salary over 50K. Personally i'd take a slightly lower ranked school in a more livable place that is on it's way up and literally half it's price. I didn't have a hard time at all saying no to loyola n.o. but i am having a hard time completely saying no to fcsl and the jacksonville area, i really would love to live there. let me know what you think, and good luck!

120 hour a week camp job
Thursday, March 01 2007 at 07:00 PM

I saw you on jawradys post and wanted to say hi. Congratulations on getting into Loyola New Orleans - its a great school and certainly the best of your options. Not a whole lot of people are into all the outdoors stuff too so that is pretty cool. I was a Boy Scout for 8 years or so and became an Eagle. My troop did all sorts of hiking, mountain biking, canoeing adventures. Love it. This summer I'm going to be working as a mountain biking and backpacking instructor in the Smokies before going to Cumberland. I'm excited, it was the best job that I applied to down there and hope to meet new people in the South. I'm a bit of a Yankee originally from PA so it will be an interesting experience but I'm looking forward to that. What was the wilderness camp like - sounds grueling with the kind of hours and kids you dealt with? Gives you a good work ethic for the practice of law and law school huh. Are you going to keep doing outdoors stuff down in New Orleans? Good luck and once again congratulations on your new school.

loyola
Tuesday, October 03 2006 at 08:00 PM

That's really interesting that you were able to get a house at that price, my tour guide must have overestimated housing prices. your right the area by campus is really nice but it's like an oasis in the desert. I agree with you about the not being connected to a university part, that does bother me about coastal. I'm sure you'll do great and have an awesome time at loyola ("bar reviews" in new orleans should be a hell of a time) and i'm glad you're excited about your school. good luck!
