When you feel down, know that you are not out. You have to keep going and one day your dream will come true. Its not about the numbers, but its about the candidates you can count on. You have what it takes. Know that which ever law school accepts you they have a precious jewel that will go far and no only make your name great, but theirs as well. You are the anomaly. Your time is coming soon.
Keep plugging along, you got this! your cycle isn't over yet! I'll keep you in my prayers
Thank you!
You would think the anticipation of waiting for law schools to respond will go away. Unfortunately, I have found myself checking my status for approximately 23 days straight. I keep telling myself that its going to happen, which I do believe. If going to law school was just a fad for me then maybe I would be un-bothered, but It's what I know I'm called to do, and once I walk through those doors there's no stopping me. I'm here to serve!
Stay encouraged! You are not alone. I have been checking the statuses several times a day, and the waiting is gruesome. It is especially difficult when for whatever reason it doesn't appear you're up to the test numerically. So I definitely understand.
Thank you @myfirstlove for those encouraging words. I have been trying to keep myself motivated throughout this process. Its been going on 2 years of me trying to get into law school and I really hope that a law school will give me a chance to prove that I am more than numbers.
I agree, this website is a big help indeed! I, too, have been working to get into law school for 2 years, and taken the LSAT 3 times. Increased by 6 points, but thankful that it increased and didn't decrease. Stay prayerful in all this. I think that if 2 years has gone by and you still carry the passion for it, then it's definitely in your heart and you should not stop.
Thank you @nattyolaw that really means a lot. I got accepted into Cooley Law today! waiting to hear from others!!!!
God is good.
Congratulations!!! Huge news!! What campus would you choose?
@beyonce4 Thank you! And probably Tampa, not sure.
Congrats!!! Your persistence and perseverance are clear indicators of your future success!
Thank you! @myfirstlove
Waiting period was a little over 2 months
I may not have been accepted into a top 14 tier school, but I believe that we are meant to be where we'll go. Nothing happens by accident. I feel truly blessed to be able to say I'm starting law school this Fall after two years of non-stop dedication. I look back and I see how the hand of God was over my situation from start to finish. There were things I needed to learn during that time that I know I wouldn't have learned in law school, but because of my journey I know that I will not take this opportunity for granted no matter where I go. It's not about the numbers you can count, but who you can count on in law school, many people fail to realize that when they judge you. I am very thankful for this website and all of you, because you all helped me to see that something would soon happen for me. I can't wait to start this journey and if any of you would like to keep in touch inbox me your Facebook or Instagram name. I would love to hear about your journey as it unfolds!
Girl, congratulations! That is so awesome that you got into Cooley! I am new to this sight, but I graduated with my B.A. this past May and I applied to Cooley, also! Retook the LSAT, but just never been strong at standardized testing. Have an LSAT tutor at the moment, but sill applied to Cooley Law a few days ago. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Did you get full JD acceptance or were you admitted through PEP (their conditional program)? Again, congratulations! :)
Accepted into Charleston Conditional Admissions Program. I've taken this program at Charlotte law before, which is a 2nd and 3rd year law course. ( Not interested in doing this again, and there is a $500 seat deposit) Didn't have to pay that when I did it at Charlotte though. I didn't pass by one point unfortunately, but I still think I did pretty well considering it was a 2nd and 3rd year law course without having any legal work under my belt. Great experience over all. Definitely assured me that law school the right path for me.
Thank you very much, and I got into their full program, I didn't know they had a conditional program. I tried that before at Charlotte Law last year though.
That is so wonderful! I, too, was admitted to the Charlotte Law and Charleston School of Law AAMPLE Program. I decided that taking the year off was better for me in the long run. For WMUCooley, I applied to the Tampa campus, so you never know, we might see each other in class sometime in the near future! Haha, God has a plan for everyone! :)
My apologies on your denial to Howard. Did you receive status checker information immediately or did it take them a while to get it to you? I applied on the deadline, and I still haven't received status checker information.
All I have to say is won't He do it?? Grow us up in HIM, and grant us the desires of our heart when we learn to just rely on Him. Continue leaning! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
@mimslt1 it took a long time. Almost 3 months before they told me I was denied admissions, but they sent me an e-mail.
@myfirstlove I know that's right. I feel truly blessed, Thank you!
For cooley law did the date change when it was in review? My changed to 4/18/17. I submitted on 3/26, no movement since
@jana1286 no I didn't see a date change for cooley
I'm new here as well, took the LSAT this Monday, my brain still hurting... I feel it's just not enough time to complete all the questions I applied with Stetson and a few more including Cooley, but pretty much I'm limited to those 2. My husband recently got hired with the sheriff department, so we r moving from Miami to Sarasota.... hopefully I get an answer soon.. planning to attend this fall, God willing
Anyone knows how is financial aid awarded? I know for a fact I don't qualify, but in regards to loans, do we know if without scholarships we are able to cover full tuition ? Does my income affect that ?
Where will you be going?
@yenilaw2017 i'm sure you did fine. Don't stress, the only thing to do now is just wait. After my LSAT I started to look up places to stay to help me get my mind off of things, which really helped because it gave me hope in knowing that I would be starting law school through faith. Also I have a friend who said that the loans really help and that as long as your rent is under 1k you'll be fine. I found a place for $580 so I am extremely excited about that, this way I can start saying up for the bar exam and prep classes!
@ladyshaq thank you for your words, I just finished moving to Sarasota, so I'm pretty much out of options- Cooley or Stetson are my only choices. How about you ? Where would you be attending? This fall ?
How long for Cooley decision?! I just applied and I am still waiting for a decision!
@stefanimh just a little over a month!
Just got my LSAT score, I was not surprised, I had a few hiccups and didn't have enough time, actually more like my damn watch didn't work and I was lost with time I got a 139, honestly I'm not going to retake it, hopefully Cooley takes me and I'll be there with you ladies Btw you girls can txt me anytime - my cell 305-766-9740 Yeni
Still waiting for Cooley. Congrats again on your decision to attend Cooley. Have you visited the Tampa Bay campus? If so, had was it? If so get admitted, I plan on attending the Tampa Bay campus
I've visited the Tampa Bay campus and it's pretty nice-- I'll be going there in the fall.
I checked my application status tracker and said a decision has been made... will I find out if I'm accepted or not via email or mail and how long does it take???
Cooley sends decisions via email and mail.
I got accepted!!!! So hopefully will see you guys around campus in the fall!
Congrats @stefanimh!!!
All of you just gave me faith. I took the LSAT this month and did horrible and debated whether I should even go to law school. But reading all this gave me encouragement. Hopefully everyone is doing well in school!
Hi guys, I just finished my first year of law school!!!! I'm officially a 2L now, woosh. My advice to you is:work hard that first semester because you do not start with a 4.0 like undergrad. You have to 'build' a GPA in law school. I wish I had know this going in, but I'm doing well now. Keep pushing yoh guys if I can do it, so can you!!!! If you wish to follow me my IG is:@judgeinthemaking
Thank you for sharing your story! I needed this today!
So hurt...One of my applications had the wrong school name listed. I'm feeling so discouraged about the mistake. LSAC saves documents, so be sure you're clicking on the appropriate one, so that you can avoid mistakes like this. So glad it was only one school.
