What I really want to do at this point is beg everyone to make up their damn minds about which school they're going to, and pull their names from all the others, in order that the rest of us can then have our chances too. It's pointless, I know; we live in a very selfish world, and this particular segment of it (law school applicants) are in the top 1% of that population. "Why should I withdraw? I might get a better offer/be able to leverage one against another/yada yada" and so on. But I will say, I did it, I know it can be done! TAKE YOUR NAME OFF THE SCHOOL'S LIST IF YOU HAVE NO INTENTION OF GOING TO THAT SCHOOL. JUST DO IT. KARMA WILL WORK IT ALL OUT.

UPDATE JUNE 28: UTenn is still pulling off the waitlist and I'll give them up til the day I move to Jacksonville to take me. Although F C S L has certainly treated me with more respect, UTenn is closer to home. Good luck to any others still out there.

U Tenn's waitlist letter says they received 1,609 applications and have 155 seats in the incoming class, and that they have admitted 18% of their applicants so far; that's 289 people--don't know if they're anticipating a 50% yield on initial accepts. Will call Monday to ask all my q's.

They indicated that they might start pulling off the wait June 1 possibly sooner but mostly after. Also, it appears that they aren't outright accepting anyone anymore, all future letters will be waitlists, WL pulls, or rejects.

A note on F C S L:

They now have the second highest bar passage rate in Florida, which has one of the most difficult bar exams in the US.

The "student-centereed" attitude means, HELLO, they're not treating people like pond scum like so many law schools do; they actually work towards student success, by teaching you the skills to make it successfully.

Just because a school is private (or, run for-profit if you think like that) doesn't mean it's not conferring a quality education.

And on that note, if you think public schools aren't for-profit, you're delusional.

F C S L has only been around for ten years. When it's as old as the fuddy-duddy's in the Ivy, they're going to be as highly ranked, because the whole ranking system is based on the Old Boy Network anyway and cannot be taking seriously anymore.

In sum, don't pity me because that's the only option I have (to date). I'm not sorry about it, and I know that what I will get out of my legal education will equal the work I put into it, which is more than can be said for a lot of others. I specifically direct this at the SOB's who post on discussion boards just to make themselves feel high and mighty, and who will denigrate me for my poor LSAT showing and the content of this profile.

Now, if you're serious about law, good! We need more determined people with passion and drive who will work to make the legal profession respected and worthy again. Let's go out in the world and make a difference, shall we?

Have you visited FL Coastal? I am WL at Stetson too. Maybe I will see you somewhere in the fall!

I have visited; just down there last week in fact. (March 25) Okay place, I could live in JAX for three years--so it's not a total bummer to think that's my only option right now. --lb

glad you like the entries...figure the only way to get through this time is to simply liven up the mood...no need to get all stressed out. though it's not an acceptance...congrats on at least making the waitlist at tennessee. i am also awaiting uga as i'd easily just go there but that's looking grim. at least you know you're going to law school this fall! best wishes
