Yes, I also thought that was weird of U of Maryland. They can look at the writing sample of the LSAT, and decide whether that is reasonable English or not, right? On the other hand, it says on their website that they require us foreigners to take the test, and I didn't, so they are entitled to ask for it. Ah well, I'm happy they didn't send this e-mail two weeks ago, when I didn't have any acceptances yet. I would have had to consider taking the TOEFL. I see you are an international applicant as well. Did you take the test? (Or are you from an English-speaking country?)

I studied with books, but on the day itself I really messed up the reading-comprehension part. It was awful. Are you considering retaking the test? I hope you get some good news soon; it's no fun starting with rejections!
