- in a fit of paranoia that i might get waitlisted or rejected everywhere, applied to Rutgers-Newark. addressed envelope to send certification letter in while slightly drunk. hope it got there.

- (via email) IN at Kentucky!!! So pumped that the first one back is an acceptance. What a fabulous start to spring break. I have a future!

- complete at Rutgers, and they gave me another status checker to check thousands of times a day.

- complete and under review at GMU via email... too bad that's the one school i know i'm not getting into.

- back at school with no new decisions, but acceptance package from Kentucky is here along with a handwritten note at the bottom of the letter from the dean, and a separate letter containing a scholarship offer: $11,000 a year to cover the difference between in and out of state tuition!!! You're making me like you, Kentucky.

- Status checker says "Administrative Review" at Wake Forest
- ... and 5 minutes later, an email saying so. Glad my Medieval Philosophy class is boring me to tears.

- in at Rutgers via email. Safety, so I knew I was getting in, but it's nice to have another acceptance... undefeated so far!

- Waitlisted at William & Mary via snail mail. Definitely better than a rejection, but I'll probably be sending another LOR to strengthen my file and let them know I'm serious about them.

- Received acceptance package from Rutgers. No scholarship offer... yet. I'm withdrawing anyways.

- are the status checkers not working for anyone else? hopefully it's because they all went to decision...!

- Temple status checker says "Decision has been made on application." Says the decision letter will be mailed on 4/3. Since everyone that's accepted is getting a "Congratulations" and/or an email, i'm assuming that's a waitlist. Which is great since they emailed me when I was applying and offered me a merit-based fee waiver. Seems like they sent out a lot of those without knowing what "yield protection" means.

- Waitlisted at Wake Forest via status checker & email. All I need is my rejection from GMU and I can be on my way.

- officially waitlisted at Temple via snail mail. It's tied in the rankings with Kentucky but UK offered me $33k (oh, and admitted me straight off). And I'm already sitting on 2 waitlists that are better. Probably withdrawing.

- the date that GMU promised my decision by has come and passed. it's aggravating waiting this long for an official rejection. either way, my deposit at Kentucky goes in the mail on Monday.

- ...just kidding!? Email from Wake today that says the admissions committee met again recently and "were most favorably impressed with [my] credentials and would like to discuss [my] candidacy." Status checker went from Wait List to "Decision Letter Pending." ...!!!!

- phone call from the dean at Wake this morning officially offering me a spot! yay! she said she didn't have any scholarship money left to offer me but offered either tuition & housing for the summer after first year if i wanted to stay and take classes, or a research assistant position for that summer. HOLLER. I'm headed to Winston-Salem!
