SCHOLARSHIPS ARE TOTAL $

5/1/12 LSU is where I will be attending in the fall! VERY excited and cant wait to return to Baton Rouge. Tulane gave me something to think about, but in the end it is just too expensive to justify. This site was so helpful to me throughout the process and I hope my profile can help others through the admissions cycle.

4/30/12 In off the waitlist at Tulane. 5/5 this cycle. Tulane will have to give me some serious $$ though so its still looking like LSU.

3/30/12 $2,000/year at LSU. Not enough to clinch it for LSU but making it even more likely I'll be attending. LSU is a clear #1 at this point.

3/29/12 Checked status at LSU. Scholarship offer mailed tuesday. A good offer from LSU will probably have me attending there in the fall. Been a great cycle and only getting better.

3/29/12 Loyola upped my offer from $5,000/year to $10,000/year. While a nice increase, its gonna take more than that for me to attend as the COA is still at 25k/year vs LSU a 16k/year.

3/26/12 Waitlisted at Tulane. Selected the waitlist option of "yes I will seriously consider an offer of admission with scholarship $ only". Told them I must know by april 30. We will see on that one I guess. Better than a rejection.

3/8/12 Big day today. In at LSU via email. Scholarship info potentially forthcoming. Got a call from Dean Miller at UA gauging my interest in attending. Was told that a visit and a commitment to arkansas would put me in line for an offer. Going to visit next weekend. Financially LSU and Arkansas jump to the top of my list when compared with my other offers. Still waiting to see if Loyola will up my offer. Decisions Decisions..been a great cycle so far.

2/28/12 Received $5,000/year at Loyola. Will see if they can increase award but that won't be enough for me to attend.

2/27/12 Not much news to report. Continuing to get positive correspondence from Loyola and UALR. In admissions committee review at LSU since 1/31. They said 6-8 weeks from that date so I am biding my time hoping for good news. Reeeally hoping for scholarship $$ from Loyola NO as I would love to stay in new orleans. They say March 1 is the latest they notify. Anyone heard anything on that front? Stuck on file complete at Tulane (not expecting good news there) and nothing from UArk since requesting more materials. Waiting game continues I guess. Right now still looking like UALR.

1/16 Started week off with good news from Loyola. In via status tracker. Under scholarship consideration. We will see but at 38k sticker it'll have to be a lot of $$.

1/6 Received admissions packet from UALR. Included a letter waiving out of state tuition. Flipped the page and the next letter offered me 21k on top of the out of state waiver. Um WOW. That's a lot of money, basically reducing my entire law school cost to under 10k if I go there. Still haven't heard back from anywhere else but I cant Imagine I'll get a much better deal than this. I may be returning to Little Rock.

12/20 Got a snail mail letter from UA-Fayetteville saying I was not admitted based on index admission (13.4xugpa LSAT) which I already knew. Was asked to submit a resume and personal statement to be considered for non index admission. Not good news but not bad news either. Looks like I'll be waiting a while longer to hear a decision from UAf. Would've been nice if they had just asked for all of those things in the beginning like every other school but oh well.

12/18 Admitted to UALR via email. Nice to know I will be in somewhere. Very exciting. Really hoping to hear some more positive news from the other schools soon too.

LSU undergrad. Started out BIO, did horribly graduated in history. Slight upward trend. Worked for a year in a law firm fulltime in New Orleans. Went back received second degree in Political Science in 2 semesters at LSU with 3.0 GPA. Finished up on deans list. Originally from Arkansas, am now considered a Louisiana resident. Heavily involved in fraternity leadership, helped start a small frat, serving almost every position.

Did Loyola N.O. send you an online status checker link? I received an email saying my app was complete and in queue and that I would would receive the status checker, but never did.

My status checker went straight from complete to "decision rendered"...I was actually going to email them tomorrow to ask about it because I was expecting it to say "in review", which never happened

Also, just realized we applied to 4 of the same schools...good luck!

Are you going to go to Arkansas? I was also non-index admit and am going to visit on April 13 when I will leave my deposit! Go Hogs.

How did you approach the LSAT? 163 is something to be proud of, and I take it next month. Any additional advice? I'm applying to LSU, Southern, and Loyola.
