Additional info & updates

*SCHOLARSHIPS ARE PER YEAR*

04/25: Got an Email from Cardozo asking me to reconsider my withdrawal and upping my scholarship to full tuition with no stips. Also got a call from Minnesota taking me off of their waitlist with a $35,000/year scholarship (2.5 GPA stip). I guess my cycle may not be over after all.

04/05: After wrestling between Bama and LSU for a few weeks (and two scholarship revisions from Bama), I finally settled on LSU. Cycle over.

03/20: Accepted to UC Hastings (finally!) by phone call. Not planning to attend, but it makes me feel good about myself.

03/15: Phone call from Cardozo...accepted with a scholarship of $40,000/year! That%u2019s quite a chunk of money...

03/14: WL from UMN. That's to be expected considering how late I applied.

03/08: Got 100% tuition waiver from LSU! Very excited, as now this would cost me virtually nothing. I'm visiting Alabama in a couple of weeks, and they've impressed me a lot lately, so we'll see.

03/01: Received packet from Tulane in the mail...the tote bag is a nice touch. They offered the Dean's Honor Scholarship, $25,000/year with a 3.0 GPA stip.

02/27: Accepted to Tulane. Scholarship info is supposed to come in the mail soon. It would have to be a big scholarship for me to consider attending, but I do kinda like the idea of being back in New Orleans.

02/25: Decided to apply to Dozo and UMN after all. They gave me fee waivers, so why not?

02/24: Got formal acceptance "packets" from UALR and Arkansas. Arkansas offered $7,000/semester for the first 2 semesters, then $4,000/semester after that. 2.0 GPA stip in first year, then top 20% after that. Pretty strict, but it does amount to full tuition if I become a resident after 1L, which would be easy. UALR offered full tuition and fees (the Bowen Scholarship) with a top 50% stip. I'll probably be withdrawing soon, but it's still nice to get such a good scholarship.

02/23: Got BLS scholarship offer today. Richardson, Dean's Merit and Centennial Grant, totaling $26,100/year. Extremely generous stips, and the opportunity to receive a better scholarship for 2L if I place in top 5%, but I still think it's too expensive.

02/20: Admitted to LSU! Excited to hear about scholarships, since this is my first choice school, barring any particularly nice offer from another school.

02/16: Dinged by Texas via 5am email, which I was expecting...hopefully it'll be my only rejection. Got admitted to Arkansas today, though, which kind of (KIND OF) balances it out.

02/15: Brooklyn Law School admit tonight when I got home. That's an admit each of the past 4 business days! Hopefully the trend continues!

02/14: Busy week! Admitted to UALR today. No scholarship info yet, but it doesn't really matter since I'm having a pretty good cycle so far so I probably won't be attending. Parents called to let me know they received a box from Alabama...I guess they sent materials to my permanent address instead of my current one.

02/13: It's been a big day! Got call and email from Bama with scholarship info ($25k/year with top 40% stip, $10k if I drop below) AND got letter in the mail with an admit from Chicago-Kent and $23k/year with no stip. IIT isn't really a serious consideration for me, but maybe I'll look at it a bit harder.

02/10: First admit! In via status checker at University of Alabama. No phone call like everyone else seems to be getting, but maybe that's still coming, or maybe I screened it out. No talk of scholarship info...hopefully that's on the way.

02/09: Emailed LSU (likely 1st choice since I'm from LA) asking about what sort of timeframe I could expect. About 10 minutes after receiving a reply, app went to "in review" instead of waiting for review. Maybe the Email helped to get it in review sooner?

...schools like George Washington, Fordam and Minnesota. With your numbers you can get into much better schools than those you're applying to (excl. Austin). You have good softs too. I hope you don't think you can't get into those schools...

Does it look like you're going to end up at LSU then?

What was your status tracker progression at Tulane? Did it go from "file complete" straight to a decision or were you updated when it was under review? Thanks -lr2redstick

Thanks for the quick response

thats definitely good to know, I was ready to email/call them this week too. You've got a better looking resume than me for sure and congrats on all your acceptances. I'm in the position of seeing who offers me the best financial package right now. UALR obviously leading the pack, but New Orleans > LR any day. Maybe Ill see you in 1L next year. Thanks again!
