Additional info & updates

Mailed paper copy to GULC.

Successfully solicitated merit-based fee waivers from Mich and GULC.

23 Oct: Complete at Harvard!!! So nervous :) Working on an essay for NYU IP Law Scholar's Program.

31 Oct: Wow, got the TS1 email...

13 Nov: And I got the call. Let's just say a career in advising future law students on phone interview success is not in my future. My fingers are nonetheless crossed.

14 Nov: In at Georgetown!

23 Nov: After a four day absence from the internet, I checked my mail and found an email offering admission to Michigan! They also wanted clarification on an item on my resume before reviewing it for scholarship money.

25 Nov: Just got an acceptance email from Harvard! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! (I'm overseas, which explains the email rather than call.)

11 Dec: Got a Darrow invite! Also, just found out I'm IN at Berkeley via status check. Trying to decide if I should finish up my application at NYU or app to Yale instead... or save the 70 bucks and take myself scuba diving instead :)

8 Jan: Was awarded the full Darrow in a very nice email from the Dean. Still waiting at all other schools, and I've decided not to apply to Yale.

9 Feb: Accepted ages ago at Columbia, but no scholarship (unsurprising.) Now I'm just waiting for Stanford... pretty please get back to me Stanford!

13 Feb: Apparently UChicago sent me a letter with a scholarship offer! Choosing a school is getting more and more complicated...

5 April: Withdrawing is sad - I especially felt bad about UChicago! Down to Harvard and Michigan. I'm hoping to make a final decision in the next few days, because I want to defer for a year and need to get started on the paperwork for that! A transcontinental bike trip sounds a little more exciting to me than contracts and civil procedure readings right now...

12 April: And I was accepted to Stanford! I was literally printing out the deferral paperwork to go to Harvard; now I need to take another day or two to think things over. I'm interested primarily in international technology law, so this is a tough decision for me. I still can't believe Stanford accepted me with my GPA!!

25 April: Stanford it is. And thus my cycle ends.

Harvard Question
Sunday, October 26 2008 at 08:00 PM

Did you receive an email from HLS telling you that your app was complete before getting the TS1 email? I thought my app was complete some weeks ago, but I got an odd e-mail from them this morning saying that it was just now completed.

I figured as much. I was just a bit thrown off. I don't expect an interview 'til much later, if at all. Congrats on UM and that epic LSAT score!

Candy!
Tuesday, December 09 2008 at 07:00 PM

I love the fact that you've researched candy in 19 different countries. You've gotta apply to Yale - your stats are great, and that one line provides infinite cheer, which has got to be a plus in their soft-heavy admissions process.

Well done

Congrats on HLS. Got anything in the way of a Snickers bar?

hey

Yale

Why havent you applied to Yale. You waited a whole cycle to apply there and now your pondering it? They love candy there :)

Aussie Candy
Tuesday, December 09 2008 at 07:00 PM

While you're in Australia, I hope that you'll stretch beyond the "musk" candies to some of the other Aussie sugary treats unavailable in the States. Tiny Teddies come immediately to mind, as do Fizzers, Darrell Lea Liquorice (why is Liquorice so uncommon in the US?), Bundaberg Ginger Beer, and custard - creme caramel, pouring custard, whatever you don't see often in the States. It really is a different world. ;-)

Congrats!

on everything! And thanks for the good wishes, I hope you're right about the splitters' conquest of Harvard :)

Congrats on the Darrow and UChi! :D

Congratulations

Honestly, a 180 on your LSAT.. Amazing! Any tips for someone taking the exam in June? How did you prepare? Congrats on Harvard, Chicago, and Colombia.

Congratulations on your acceptances! How'd you prepare for the LSAT? I'm aiming for the 170s and I just took a diagnostic and got a disappointing 136. Any suggestions? I have six months to study. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
