Middle aged - is that a URM? (j/k)

My grad school GPA is 3.88. The work was a lot harder than anything I did as an undergrad. You'd think that would count for something.

Lots of jobs over the years, but also lots of volunteer work, especially with kids. President of a youth softball league for a couple years.

Lawyering is that thing I always felt I could have and should have done, and people (including lawyers) always told me I would do well. Time to stop putting it off.

Additional info & updates

The thing I'm hoping for here is that they look past my GPA. If I hadn't screwed around so much in my youth, it would have been much higher. I first went to college in the 80s and got horrible grades because I didn't go to class. When I returned at the end of the 90s, I did much better.

I thought about retaking the LSAT, but I felt strongly enough about the details of my academic record that I decided against it. I actually kind of blew it on the logic section of the test. I lost track of time and ended up guessing at the last 8 or 9 questions. Naturally, I got them all wrong. After the scores came out, I tried that section again at my own pace and got them all right. Figures.

3/1: Accepted at Southwestern, but withdrawing. Accepted at Loyola and Pepperdine. I don't reasonably expect to get into SC, and I'm not sure I'd go if I could. It would be a very difficult commute.

Basically, I'm trying to decide between Loyola and Pepperdine. I live in Ventura Country, so my choice is drive to Pepperdine or take the train to Loyola (and hope to get work done on the train).

3/8 Decided I will attend Pepperdine.

Congrats on Pepperdine! Would you mind letting me know how they notified you? Via email, post mail, status checker? Thanks!

Pepperdine notfied me via status checker, which seem to be SOP for them. I haven't run into anyone yet that found out any other way.
