BU money

Hey, I saw your post on LS Discussion. Did BU offer you any dough? When did you hear from them about it? I'm hot on BU, but don't want to declare until they offer me some money. My GPA's not great, though, so I am worried...

Thanks for the news. I hope to get some kind of merit love, but I'm sure I wasn't Dean's material.

At this point I am btwn BU and GW, and was leaning more towards GW bc they gave me $10k too. However, BU has more programs that I'm interested in. So, I wrote Financial Aid a letter basically saying that (but more tactful, leaving out names and amounts) and two weeks later I had a $10,000 scholarship from BU. Dpesn't hurt to try, and our numbers are very similiar. Good luck!

Well, I had my fafsa and css in really early, that may have accounted for my early financial aid letter. All of that information came together, qualifications for subsidized loans, etc. I priority shipped them all of the information they requested with a cover letter explaining my situation, and the 1st week in March I received my financial aid info. Out of curiousity, why are you leaning more towards BU? I'm going to visit both for their prospective student days. GW is ranked higher, but I don't think I'm interested in IP or Intl Law--GW's strengths....I'd like to hear your thoughts! Luck with $ from BU

Did you go to the BY prosp. student day? I went, and was more or less impressed--although the facility was a bit of a disappointment. I'm going to GW next week, and I'll take it from there. It's so funny how all the schools come up with similar scholarship offers, I feel like I'm walking around with a $10,000 price tag!
