Extra Curricular Information

If you have time for extracurricular activities after taking care of 4 kids, a wife, a full-time job, and also attending school, then you are my hero.
My spare time is dictated by how much spare money I have. Mine is spent on Boy Scouts and piano lessons for my kids. In the fall, pee wee football and dance classes will be added. I guess you could say that my extracurricular activities are those that involve my wife and children. What could be more important?

Additional info & updates

I am a 40 yr old father of 4 children. Of course, I worked full-time during school. I have an AAS in Electronic Engineering and a BS Business with a concentration in Finance. Solid engineering background with over 15 years of experience. Many years of travel. Management experience. Banking and finance experience.
My wife is from Ohio and the rest of her family is still there, so that part of the country might be an option for us. Ideally, the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex is the best place for us, as someone of my age and with my responsibilites should stay where the job is located. Kids don't feed themselves!
Relocating would be a challenge, but the upshot is that with my background in software, hardware, heavy mechanical, electronics, shipping, and mortgage counseling, I stand as good a chance of finding a job anywhere in the country as anyone else.
Also, it never hurts to have a wife that's a teacher. They seem to be needed everywhere.

2/19/09 Received email from U Dayton stating that I am receiving scholarship info via mail. Invited to visit on march 7th with complementary hotel stay for me and the wife. It's going to have to be a big one to entice me to relocate my family to one of the most economically challenged parts of the country.

2/20/09 Called UD. They said that scholarship offers were put in the mail today, but told me that I was awarded $5,000/yr. Just have to maintain a 2.2 gpa.

2/24/09 Checked Tex Wes status...says "Viewbook Mailed" on 2/18. What's up with that? I already received one two months ago. It also says "Application Under Review" and "No Decision Made"

2/26/09 Received phone call from Akron saying that I have been accepted with 22,000 (basically full) scholarship, renewable yearly based on maintaining a 3.3 gpa.

3/31/09 Attended the Admitted Student Day at the Hilton in Fort Worth, hosted by Texas Wesleyan. I was impressed by the way the school seemed to embrace us, so much so, that it would be hard for me to accept a spot at SMU, were it offered. Put down the 200.00 deposit to hold my seat.

4/30/09 Still Held for Further Review at SMU. Received and email from them stating that the decision deadline has been extended to May 11th.
Invited to a reception at Texas Wesleyan, but probably will not go since I have already attended a couple of them already.

5/11/09 Waitlisted at SMU...Anyone know how long this could last?

5/19/09 After taking a tour of SMU, I'm going to amend my earlier assertion of 4/30. I would accept an offer from SMU in a heartbeat.

6/16/09 Paid 2nd seat deposit to Texas Wesleyan today.

Im not too sure where Ill be attending. Right now it's probably STCL, they offered a scholarship and Baylor did not, plus the school is close to home. Im still holding out for SMU PT though. Good luck to you!

Thanks for the feedback. I confirmed that it does say "Decision Packet" and not "Decision Letter". Fingers crossed.
