Hey-similar numbers here. I was wondering how close you live to CSU? I'm in the Cincinnati area and I am hoping my decision is maybe in the mail too. Please tell me you are closer than Cincinnati... Did you have anything that you think really distinguished you as an applicant? Sorry, I'm getting desperate here. Any info. you could give would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I am going to CSU. Like you, I got deferred at Akron, so I am not expecting to hear anything. UA is closer to where I am from so I am more familiar with the area. The campus is probably safer and a little less urban than CSU. From my own personal research though, CSU costs the same but the average starting salary is significantly higher for a CSU grad.... $70,000 vs. $50K. I would like to get out of debt from law school as soon as possible so this looks good to me. I went on tours at both schools and they seemed fairly comparable. CSU seemed a little larger, especially their library. If you haven't gone on tours I would recommend it, at least then you could compare facilities.

My thoughts on CSU and Akron

Regarding your question, I have visited both CSU and Akron. I thought that CSU's law library and mock court room were significantly nicer than Akrons. Also, the CSU law building is undergoing a bit of a renovation that should make it more visually and functionally appealing IMHO. I did like the atmosphere at Akron; it appeared very relaxed. Ultimately though, I decided on CSU for: the aforementioned reasons; their scholarship renewal standards are less stringent; the location is a bit closer to where I live; their more flexible evening program; and because their reputation is much greater in NE Ohio than Akrons. I am also excited by the new bar passage rate improvement program they initiated. Hope this helps.

I was wait listed but accepted just recently...I haven't really thought about going because I don't know the reputation of the school in Ohio. Any thoughts? ATM i'm leaning towards Ave Maria (Since I also got a generous scholarship from there as well). Wish you luck on the app process.
