Additional info & updates

11/10: I received a business-sized envelope with acceptance letter (dated 11/4) from Mizzou. Scholarships will be decided later.

12/15: I received a large envelope with acceptance package (contained a large folder with info., etc.) from SLU (dated 12/11). "First-round" of scholarship information will be sent by the end of January.

12/18: Drake University acceptance -- It arrived in a large folder with a lot of information about the school. It also came with a scholarship offer ($21,000 per year).

1/12: I found out that I was accepted to Illinois today via their on-line status checker, so I guess that an acceptance package will be coming in the mail soon.

1/20: received Illinois acceptance package (large viewbook, etc.)

2/7: in at Chicago-Kent via email

2/11: Chicago-Kent acceptance package w/ $15,000 first-year scholarship (second and third year awards possible w/ first-year grades in top 25%)

2/14: received SLU scholarship offer $19,000/yr ($57,000 total) renewable for three years

2/14: received Mizzou scholarship offer $5,000/yr. ($15,000 total) renewable for three years (added benefit of in-state tuition)

2/17: waitlisted at Indiana-Bloomington

4/3: I have decided to attend Mizzou Law. While the Illinois offer was tempting, without any scholarship $$$, the cost of attending there is too steep compared to the potential gains, in my opinion. This is especially true since I may very well practice in Missouri. I have withdrawn from all of the other schools I was accepted to.

Best of luck to everyone!

Congrats on an acceptance from Mizzou. I'm waiting to hear back from Kent as well.

Congrats on your acceptances so far! We have similar numbers and are applying to several of the same schools. Good luck with Indiana and Illinois - hopefully they'll go a bit below their LSAT median and accept us both!

Mizzou v. UIUC

I was considering both schools as well, if you are interested I did a little research on job options from either in Missouri and posted the results on LSD. If you are looking to stay in Missouri, MU is probably the better option because of cost and because it might be easier to excel. Let me know if you have any questions. Also, as I've told others, a LSAT retake could result in a substantial scholarship (or an increase over what you would have received) at MU and can't hurt you.

in at kent!

Fellow tiger ... congrats on your acceptances thus far! We are applying to many of the same schools. Any front runners? I think that for me it may come down to scholarship money. It's hard to beat $5K at Mizzou on top of in-state tuition, but UIUC would has a much more diverse alumni base and would seemingly offer for more in terms of job prospects. Best of luck!
